Only about five years ago, the only sapient creatures were humans. That'd been the norm for thousands of years; why would five years suddenly make a difference?


Nobody's quite sure exactly what happened. Many say it was the strange fog that began appearing at random times, where some individuals Turned within hours of coming in contact. Others say it was experiments by SPCF, the group that showed up immediately after people began to Turn. There's a third theory that says it was simply rapid evolution.


Whatever the case, people with strange abilities began to show up. Things people thought weren't possible; shapeshifting. Elemental powers. Flight. These people were called many names, just about anything non-magical people could think of- Fey. Magiks. Witches. But, the one that truly stuck was 'sprites.'


Now, five years later, people still don't know how this happened. The strange fog, now called The Myst, still appears, and seemingly random people get Turned into sprites. Despite their incredible abilities, sprites are still resented, and the Sprite Prevention and Containment Facility, or SPCF, was formed to directly try to prevent any sprites from having a normal life.

Now, things have gotten worse. The SPCF are now allowed to capture sprites with most abilities because of their 'perceived danger.' Any person who's visibly a sprite can be captured simply for having magic. None of these sprites are ever seen again, and the few who aren't visible are often ratted out by the many anti-sprite people that are found everywhere.

*No being OP (duh)
*I control the story. If you want something specific to happen, please tell me instead of trying to force it.
*If you want to make a side character that's fine and you don't need permission. But, if it's a Sprite you need to make a character form.
*Please don't post images. You can link them, but don't post them.
*If your interaction doesn't involve someone, don't ping them. For example, if Asuriel is talking to Kate, there's no reason to ping Dragons. Separate interactions will happen very often so pinging the third person won't be necessary.

Matt paced in his cave, his stomach rumbling. He was hungry, and wasnt in the mood to hunt. He looked out, debating going to a town and risking stealing. His great regeration would protect him from wounds. Then again, a lucky shot or stab could do some damage. He frowned, thinking.

(Suggestion: maybe post the link to the sign ups so we can see what everyone else can do? It would help with interactions.)

Asuriel hefted her pack higher on her shoulder, adjusting her grip. It took all her will power not to look back at the town she left behind her. She knew that hesitation would be dangerous, she shouldn't waste time. While she generally could pass as a normal human, there were a few people who knew or at least suspected, that she was a sprite. She had a pouch of coins, only of use as easier transportation now. not that she could use it right now, while still in sight of a town. She wasn't good at coin-hopping, as she'd dubbed it, anyway. She'd had vials of different metals in her pack with all of her other rations. She pushed foreward, watching for others along her way.

(Dragon:)

Something suddenly passes near the cave. For a moment it looks like water falling, except water doesn't tend to wear a T-shirt and jeans.


(Theatre:)


Something bright flits from a nearby tree. Almost like a second sun, but much closer and a tad less bright. Also, the sun doesn't usually wear emo clothing. So it's probably not a new star.

Matt looked outside, slowly crawling towards it, baring his canines. *what are you?* he called.

It turns to look at him. It's a sprite, made entirely out of water. Two small slits on its face look vaguely like eyes, and it appears to be a girl. But, it's a bit hard to tell since she's made entirely out of cloudy water.

Zeke took a step back, confused, and looked at his claws before back at the sprite. *your like me.* he said softly. *whats your name?*

She glances away. "Kara. Kara Fyles." It's hard to tell how she's speaking- he doesn't see a mouth, or any mouth-like slit, on her face. Her voice sounds surprisingly clear, with her watery body not distorting the words, however it is they're being made.

*im Matt. Matt Relora. Forgive me, but... are you just water? Im curious.*

"I mean, sometimes. But other times I'm ice." She shrugs. Or, at least, it looks like that's what it was.
