Only about five years ago, the only sapient creatures were humans. That'd been the norm for thousands of years; why would five years suddenly make a difference?


Nobody's quite sure exactly what happened. Many say it was the strange fog that began appearing at random times, where some individuals Turned within hours of coming in contact. Others say it was experiments by SPCF, the group that showed up immediately after people began to Turn. There's a third theory that says it was simply rapid evolution.


Whatever the case, people with strange abilities began to show up. Things people thought weren't possible; shapeshifting. Elemental powers. Flight. These people were called many names, just about anything non-magical people could think of- Fey. Magiks. Witches. But, the one that truly stuck was 'sprites.'


Now, five years later, people still don't know how this happened. The strange fog, now called The Myst, still appears, and seemingly random people get Turned into sprites. Despite their incredible abilities, sprites are still resented, and the Sprite Prevention and Containment Facility, or SPCF, was formed to directly try to prevent any sprites from having a normal life.

Now, things have gotten worse. The SPCF are now allowed to capture sprites with most abilities because of their 'perceived danger.' Any person who's visibly a sprite can be captured simply for having magic. None of these sprites are ever seen again, and the few who aren't visible are often ratted out by the many anti-sprite people that are found everywhere.

Name: Kara Fyles

Ability/abilities: She is literally made out of water, with her organs and skeleton made out of ice. Her body functions exactly like water, or ice when it's cold. This means most things can't kill her, because a knife or gun can't exactly ruin a lake. However, any non-magical heat can be dangerous.
Appearance: She's very opaque, so most of the time you can't see her organs or skeleton. However, she temporarily gets clearer when she absorbs fresh water. When she's in an area below freezing, her body ices over and she turns spiky and slow.
Personality: She's fairly polite, but is in no way a pushover. If somebody is rude to her, she'll be rude right back.

Ability/abilities: Her entire body is made of fire. She's completely immune to danger in most scenarios, and water won't immediately kill her, but if her fire is put out she loses her invincibility and becomes essentially just a human.
Appearance: She's made of fire, but when she's put out, she's an incredibly pretty dark-skinned girl with bright red dyed hair and cat-eye glasses.
Other: She has a twin sister named Kara

Same here. This also reminded me of the SCP Foundation: a secret group higher than governements whos goal is to make sure the world doesnt end or go back to the dark ages by strange creatures. They capture aliens, ghosts, monsters, possessed things, and more. Even a literal endless staircase. Its honestly really cool and this gives me Foundation vibes.

Yes I actually knew about that already, but trust me, SPCF is very different.

Sweet. It just gave me SCP vibes. I mean, come on. SPCF? SCP? Its basically the same letters but scrambled and with an extra letter.

They aren't similar.

Just pointing out what I saw.

Ability/abilities: allomancy, she can swallow small pieces of metal and "burn" them to release different effects (will make a chart on this post later, see Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson for where I got it)
Appearance: light brown hair, greenish gold eyes. If I post a ref sheet, it will have wings, but this version, like most of them, wont
Personality: sweet, naturally a nervous person, especially when it comes to other people, worsened by being magic and needing to hide
Other: after quite a bit of experimentkng (including a lot of time being sick) she figured out the metals she can use (for alloys, this includes the proportion of each metal in the alloy) and what they let her do. She trys to keep a few vials of metal shavingd with specific, more common metals on her at all times.
