NONSENSICAL GEOMETRY
Once upon a radish time
In the land of Sneeze
There were mustard-wearing pineapples
And pickled manatees;
Pancakes grew on bushes
The trees were upside down
And absolutely no one
Thought it odd the sky was brown;
Clocks were used as currency
Time did not exist
Left was up and down was right
And ladders always hissed;
Everything was backwards
Nothing there made sense
And of a time when anything did
You'll find no evidence.
THE GRANDFATHER CLOCK
The grandfather clock
With a tick and a tock
Calls, "What cheer! it's noon"
With a ringing and dinging
Old grandpa is singing!
Singing a midday tune.
RAINY DAY
Oh Lord, good Lord
I'm bored, so bored.
Shall I speak in rhyme, to pass the time?
I'm feeling quite ignored.
Maybe I could read a book...
But no, I've read them all times twenty.
Maybe I could eat a snack...
But no, the cupboard's empty.
Maybe I could draw a picture...
But no, I'm out of paper.
Maybe I could dance a jig...
No, I'm not in the mood to caper.
Maybe I could play outdoors...
But no, outdoors it's raining.
What should I do, oh Lord, good Lord?
The Lord said, "Stop complaining!"
