Legendary An RPGuniverse like a flaming dumpster made out of parts of other flaming dumpsters
Big lore & info dump w/ fancy thread name here
Status
WIP, PM me to reserve a spot [4]
Disclaimer: This has nothing to do with Orca's RPG of a similar name :P
This RPG requires you to be willing to read and understand a lot of information about this fictional universe from the start, as well as being able to make your character's backstory, thoughts, actions, etc. reflect the knowledge of such information. Please be sure that you can do so before joining.
If this world sounds similar to any of my previous ones, it's because I'm revamping my entire fictional universe and this RPG is either going to help with that, or make it even more of a mess :') However, it is NOT the same story. Same universe, different timeline, or perhaps just a parallel universe.
And also I'm going to end up unleashing my dusty OC closet
Welcome to the Great Beyond.
Worlds of adventure and endless possiblities - hundreds of thousands of them, in fact, some as small as rocks, others huge and full of life. Of course, they're not so much of worlds rather than 'islands' of existence, sanctuaries from the harsh 'un-reality' of the ether. They merge and shift so much that it's impossible to tell them apart at times, but that's not important now.
With so many worlds, there's no lack of diversity and history. From wastelands to paradises, creatures you could never have dreamed of, places of science, places of magic. Just about anything and everything you could ever dream of can happen and exist here.
And, of course, there are the Legends. In a universe of such possibility, there are those who take the most advantage of it. And many of the people in this universe look up to them as heroes and villains. Without a doubt, they play an important part in the lives of the people of the Great Beyond - at least in their beliefs, if not quite literally.
(Please read the linked post, because I do a terrible job of explaining it here and it's something you should probably read anyways)
But all of this is old knowledge to you - having lived and grown up here all your life, you know the stories of the Great Beyond as well as you know your name, if only in words and tales. After all, you've never left your hometown. But you're old enough to leave home now, and your choices have increased a hundredfold. Will you seek adventure? Uncover the past of the Great Beyond? Chase Legends? Or travel to as many worlds as possible to learn their secrets? The choice is up to you.
And perhaps, in doing so, you may even become a Legend yourself.

Rules
I may add rules from time to time and/or edit certain things. You'll probably be fine, but you are expected to take a look at them every now and then and "I didn't read the rules" is not an excuse for breaking them. I'll mass ping if I add something major, though.
1. Narrator's word is law. This means that if I say you get hurt, then you get hurt. You're welcome to nicely challenge something if it doesn't sound reasonable, but don't be all like "NUH UH I'M TOO AWESOME TO BE HURT"
2. No overpowered characters or Mary/Gary Sues (perfect characters), please. And do try to stay in character - don't have a shy person go around kicking everyone for no reason. That includes sticking to the background of your character and your species.
3. No powerplaying. This means that you can't say "I kill the dragon and run away" or "I find a sword lying on the ground and pick it up." You can, however, say, "I swing my sword at the dragon's throat in an attempt to kill it" or "I scan the ground, looking for a sword." (Although why you'd think there's a sword on the ground honestly beats me.) The only thing you may control is your character's actions and thoughts, not the consequences.
4. I don't expect you to become an expert on this universe, but try to get the general idea of it if you can - I would also love it if you could make your backstory relevant to it as well and include a quote by your character in your form.
5. Please quote/bold/italicize my last response in your reply, and ping me.
6. I have the right to decline your form/kick you at any time.
7. Please try to write more than one sentence or just "I look around" and include your character's opinion of the Legends in your sign-up form. Especially if I'm writing long responses because it's a scene worthy of a long response - it's more fun for both of us.
8. Inactivity for 2+ weeks without warning will get you kicked (I'll give you warnings prior to this in case you accidentally forgot), especially if we have a full player list. If I forget to reply, do let me know :)

Other things to keep in mind:
asldkfjk I'm listening to old songs at the time of writing this and on such a big nostalgia trip that I can't concentrate :'D
- This is a sandbox-y (is that what they're called) RPG, meaning you can literally take whatever path you want, whatever floats your goat :)
- I will say that there is more to this world than just wandering around adventuring. It's not quite a storyline, more like a history you uncover as you go. It's quite passive, you won't be dragged into anything major unless you choose to take a major action first. You'll discover information but you can choose what you do based on that information. It does, however, have an ending if you decide to do something.
- This RPG might include some violence and blood, but we'll keep it PG-13. Yes, there might be death (of other characters or possibly you if you do stupid things), depending on what you choose.
- I have done a ton of worldbuilding for this universe. Please do me a favor and try to really understand it, it'll be more fun for both of us.

Playable Species
There are many more intelligent species and I regret not being able to let you have a bigger variety of choices but my reason for this is that these are the species found throughout most worlds and can travel easily.
Tufflins Strengths
+ Very nature attuned, have excellent wilderness survival skills
+ Good at adapting to new surroundings and making the most of natural resources
+ Inhuman senses of smell, hearing, enhanced agility, reflexes, internal compass, etc. and other beneficial animalistic traits (varies)
Weaknesses
- Less adaptive to places with little to no nature (not weak, more like an animal taken outside its natural home if that makes sense)
- Mostly prey animals and can be targets for larger creatures
- Lack opposable thumbs
Other Info
= Can begin anywhere, although not likely to be in Aidana and mostly found in Ixkhara
= Most diverse species appearance-wise, appear as mixes of different animals
= Look up 'cute fantasy creature' or 'cute fantasy animal' for best ref pics
Humans Strengths
+ Can go basically anywhere without the restrictions of other species
+ Intuitive with technology
+ Creative and open-minded (I know it sounds stupid, but many of the other creatures are set in their ways, which is a bigger detriment than you think)
Weaknesses
- Do not have any natural weapons
- Very vulnerable to magic (lowest magic resistant species, in fact)
- Are seen as utrustworthy by other creatures
Other Important Info
= Can begin in any world

Starting Worlds
There are a ton more worlds than these of course, but these are the only ones open for you to choose. Don't worry, they don't define anything but your starting point, and you'll be traveling between worlds a lot, so it's not very big of a deal ^^
Ardia
- A majestic city floating in the clouds above a mountain range
- People here are generally aloof and unfriendly to visitors
- Using magic is almost commonplace here
Ixkhara
- Mostly nature, hardly any human civilization is to be found
- Many land biomes are found here, although mainly forests and grasslands
- One of the most biodiverse worlds
Xeyliu
- A small, but beautiful oceanside town
- Most of the people here are craftsmen/artisans who make magic-infused objects
- Precious stones are highly sought after here
Courian
- A classic medieval kingdom
- Large center of trade, often busy
- Many different intelligent species here

Objectives
Not only is picking one required in your sign-up form, these also represent the possible paths you can take. Please note that they are not concrete and your chosen one only defines your beginning path, not your entire adventure.
