also known as me stealing thread ideas from other people

So I make a lot of OC species honestly both for writing and RP, but I notice I have a bad habit of never writing anything down. Especially when I get asked repeated worldbuilding questions on them and I figure it's probably cool to cram my notes somewhere that isn't the Google drive I never use. This is also way easier than trying to make species sheets for literally every alien race I have. (like 20)

You're welcome to make a character under one of these species, but I prefer to be asked first because most of them have pretty hefty backstories and I am a creature that likes consistency and to know who exactly is using my ideas.

You're welcome to post too and tell me how ridiculous they are, I don't really mind since I'm going to be linking all of them in an index anyways. :^)

(this form is not free to use and intended for a specific rp universe of mine. no touch)

Identified as:
Friendly, Allied

Species
Daarizi
(Daah-ree-zee)

Homeworld
Proxima-117

Life Span
Undocumented, many Daarizi are known to self-sacrifice or "retire" themselves after reaching several millennia in age if they do not find themselves killed by external forces far before then. They do not age similarly to biological lifeforms and seem to be rather resistant, if not immune to the effects of aging entirely other than a gradual weakening of their electric abilities over time. The oldest currently known, affectionately as the Great Old One, is known to be hundreds of thousands of years old and self-isolated to an abandoned mining planet in the Iktov sector.
The only way to tell a Daarizi's age exactly is to break off one of their carbon horns and analyze the count of the microscopic rings inside. Their horns also lengthen with age as they exude waste minerals into them and their keratinous scutes.

Anatomy
While known generally to be very amorphous and similar in appearance to Earth-like amoeba when injured, most Daarizi are known to instinctively mimic the forms of other species they encounter both for protection and a means of observation. (A trait shared with their forebearers, the Iona Ossai.)
While on their home planet however, most have adopted a sort of bipedal, hunched raptor-like stance, using the sleek, metallic keratin formed over their bodies from their heavy mineral diets as both a natural armor and as an implement to assist their cave dwelling and tunneling lifestyles. Most possess metallic, beaked facemasks, long, frilled fin-like ears, carbon horns, sharp front and hind claws, and two sharp, tipped twin tails, each possessing an auxiliary node on each side.
Perhaps, the most telling feature of a Daarizi other than the dark, metallic plasma that makes up their entire bodies in the absence of a formal multicellular structure is the presence of a large, central, crystalline core in their body that serves as both a sort of brain and heart for the individual. It functions as an electric generator, passing over vital current to the much smaller cores that guide their motor functions.
Their plasma is highly conductive and electrified, making their inner bodies a hostile environment for most materials, living or otherwise. They use high, furnace-like inner temperatures to melt down the heavy metals, minerals, and gemstones that they eat. Their outer skin on the other hand is known to be rather insulating, to both their inner heat and their electric currents. It is hot to the touch and seems to be composed of a sort of synthesized silicon-based polymer that is highly reactive to water. They breath nitrogen and vent heat and electricity through their mouths, slits over their necks, and sides of their faces.

Powers and Skills
Daarizi are quite famously known for both their strong electric generation and their shape changing abilities. Their regenerative body structure makes them rather impervious to most sources of damage, provided they do not run into strong external forces of magnetism, radiation, electrical disturbances, or contact with water-containing substances that can disrupt the electric bonds that hold their mass together.
What is less frequently known to other species is their strong capabilities to use radio frequencies for long distance communication to other members of their species and their excellent hearing and night vision, aided by their natural bioluminescence and adapted 'eyes.'
While they are physically weak and generally frail, most Daarizi make up for it with their quick mobility and their proficient ability to scale sheer surfaces in their normal forms. They are excellent climbers and can jump surprisingly well for a species lacking a formal musculoskeletal system.

Culture
Surprisingly, the Daarizi seem to lack a sort of unified culture of their own due to their frequent visitation of other planets and adaption and emulation of other cultures.
What records of their culture before the planet's atmospheric collapse and subsequent construction of the Council has been lost to history, with few Daarizi currently old enough to remember much of their old ways before the establishment of the Council.
They are quite familiar with humanity and seem to take a sort of public fascination in most humans and their galactic superiority, even if they have a tendency to look down upon other species they view as underdeveloped or inferior.

Traditions
One carryover of their old culture is their fascination with warpaints and decorative items. Daarizi of high status are known to have a love of fashion and appreciation of foreign cultures.
Food, especially ones with varied textures and colors, seems to be a rather enjoyed thing for the species, despite their weak sense of taste and total lack of sense of smell.
Daarizi in the past have known their species to be artificially suppressed as far as means of reproduction due to the scarce resources available naturally on their home planet.
While they are able to reproduce asexually at the expense of their own life by forcing division of their central core, sexual relationships between two Daarizi are not unheard of and a mating signal is even documented in their history, involving the two Daarizi members to link their tails together in embrace and syncing their levels of their electric current together.

History
The Daarizi are well known peacekeepers through the galaxy and considered a strong ally to the Galactic Federation's operations. They are very well known for their prowess with tech and their collectives of long gathered information on other species. They wield electricity and long range weaponry in battle and have a long, storied military history.
Daarizi were formerly divided into a rank structure that determined everything from their occupation and social status to mission assignments, but after the events of the Great Coup and the fall of their elected government, known simply as the Council, they have begun actively working towards a less segregated society and more active cooperation with "offworlders." These ranks are often worn on display on the Daarizi's armor or clothing as a point of pride or remembrance. Many still hold onto their former titles out of a fear of lost identity.
Currently most work as mercenaries or for hire as tradesmen to sustain a living in the relative reconstruction efforts that are being done to revive their home world and former ways of life.

(I adjust these guys history wise as I see fit, this is their current, up to date, post Council history)

Friendly, tentative alliance

Species:
Aeldrian (plural: Aeldri)
(Ahl-de-rye, Ahl-de-re-EN alternatively Eld-re-EN, Eld-rye)

Homeworld:
Minara

Life span
50-60 human years under optimal conditions.

Anatomy
The Aeldri are a bipedal insectoid species. Closely resembling Earth-native moths and scorpionflies, these aliens are said to have been seeded on their homeworld from ancient universal explorers back in the 1950s. The species is sexually dimorphic with females possessing hard shells over their wings, 4 arms, and lacking a stinger tail. They are known to be larger and physically stronger than the males. They typically have dull colorations.
Male Aeldrians have 2 arms and an elongated, ridged stinger tail with anywhere from 1 to 3 stingers near its end. Males are usually much brighter in coloration than the females.
Both sexes possess large, clear wings, large abdomens, and venomous stingers on their forearms. They are known to be quite furry across their heads, chests, and legs although the amount of fur and texture one has tends to vary wildly across the planet's three nations and respective subspecies.

Powers and Skills
These aliens wield great endurance and defensive abilities and their stings are known to be a slow burning neurotoxin that saps the strength of an enemy in battle. They are known to be quite durable as thanks to their thick fur and hard exoskeleton that covers most of their bodies.
They are even resistant to radiation, possibly giving some clue to their origins. They have long, noise and pheromone sensitive antennae and their compound eyes are shielded with outer covers giving them excellent senses.
While flightless, due to vestigial wings, they can hover quite well and land on steep or inverted surfaces.
They can climb quite well and their two thumbed hands are especially adapted to grasping objects.

Culture
The Aeldri overall are a honor-bound race, unfortunately drawn to frequent war due to scarcity of resources on Minara thanks to the planet's general inhospitality and various special interest groups that have called the planet home in the past.
Pride, honor, and strength in battle are some of their highest held virtues amongst most members of the species.
As a warrior race, dying in battle, a warrior's death, is seen as one of the greatest goals an Aeldrian can hope to achieve outside of gaining a mate.
The Aeldri are fairly unusual in this regard due to their sexual dimorphism. The larger, 4-armed female members of the species are known to have a greater status in society due to their relative scarcity and great natural strength.
The Aeldri are known to be naturally polyamorous with the egg-producing male members of the species often seeking out multiple female companions during their lifetimes. It is not unusual for a Aeldri of either sex to marry multiple members at a time to maximize their chances of continuing their lineage into the next generation.
The females are usually the ones to initiate relations and have general final say on choices of partners.
Homosexuality is generally frowned upon as a social taboo in the species due to their slowly declining numbers due to their planet's adverse conditions.

Traditions
Aeldrians often celebrate victories and battles with feasts and song. They are known to frequently invite outsiders to partake in such celebrations, for better or worse.
While most of Minara's population is vaguely religious, the polar nation of Estrea seems to have beliefs in line with the Io.

Species: Iona Ossai, Io, Ionian
(YO-nah Oh-sigh, alternatively Eye-O-nah Oh-sigh, Eye-O, Eye-O-nee-n)

Homeworld:
Centauri

Life span:
The Io are known to be especially long lived, living for centuries at a time. While not quite as long lived as the Daarizi due to their partially biological cells, they age very slowly in comparison to most species.

Anatomy:
The Io are a bit of an evolutionary oddity. They are a species that have adapted the ability of living with bodies made partially of inorganic, nonliving materials. Most of this material is used to comprise their hard shelled backs, skin, and sharp quills.

Once a common ancestor of the Daarizi, the Io have adapted over time as a predatory species on their new homeworld, retaining the ability to source nutrition from both living and non-living sources. They use their sharp teeth, quills, and claws to make short work of creatures that they hunt, having lost most of the use of their electric producing organs outside of digestion and regulation of their body's homeostasis.

Powers and Skills:
Overall, this species seems very attuned to the energies of galaxies, able to focus this power with ease into wondrous talents. They are able to sense energy sources, both natural and man-made by raising their frilled tails and finned ears like antennae.
This attunement even feeds their lifeforce, causing an Io to grow weak and even risk death if they highly overexert their own Aetheric abilities.
Their hard shelled bodies and quills make most of them defensive behemoths outside of their instinctive ability to mimic the appearances of other species to avoid injury to their soft, vulnerable hides and underbelly.
