This would probably be better in Q and A, but here is my guide!
First: Paste the link into the post. Ex: https://www.sylestia.com/view/users/?userid=128002
Next: Highlight your link and click the "URL" button.
Done! Now linking words or images...
First put you word: Hello!
Next, highlight your word and hit "URL="
Then paste your url in the text box that appears. It will look like this: Hello!
If you want to link an image, just highlight the whole image code and hit URL= again and follow the same steps.
Like this:
Ask if you have any questions.

linking an image is uh. what the "IMG=" button is for, rather than being something to use the "URL="+"IMG" for?

but yeah, "URL" button just makes a link like https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=87572
"URL=" lets you pick your text
"IMG=" is the one you want for making an image into a link

Anyway, an important thing to know is that you want to make sure you don't have two links with exactly the same url in one post, since the coding considers that a redundancy and just decides to replace the double by shifting all other links in the post 'up one'
so if I have
A [link 1]
B [link 2]
C [link 2]
D [link 3]
E [link 4]

then it'll

A [link 1]
B [link 2]
C [link 3]
D [link 4]
E [templinkreplace there is no link here]

and then you spend ten minutes trying to work out which link is the double up so you can fix it.
Luckily it does not count links to different specific forum posts that happen to be on the same page as double-ups, you've just got to remember to get the post number that you're linking to right
