So, I'm trying to go to the eggling auction thing to buy some pets, but it's blocked off. How do I unblock it? Do I need to be a certain level?

There is no active eggling auction at the moment. They are festival events and are announced with pings from Krin.

If you're looking to buy pets, you should check Advanced Search and/or the Pet Marketplace forum.
