If possible, the nurturing page displays the number of pets in a specified category that haven't been nurtured yet. Giving a finite number could encourage more nurturing compared to a seemingly endless number of eggs and hatchlings.

As a frequent nurturer during contests... I certainly wouldn't be opposed. With egglings you have the different phases to show you how much you've progressed, but with hatchlings there was no way to tell. I always preferred nurturing eggs for contests for that reason - mentally, I felt like I was getting further and thus was more likely to keep going.
It's not a big deal, for sure. But it could be nice to see.

Oh, yeah! I think this is a cool idea, and I think that it would make people have more of a goal.
