Most avatar items come from drop or reward from various festivals and events, in the case of the one i have it's entierly the case. You just missed the winter festival but the weak of love, easter event and the spring festival are just around the corner so it wont be too difficult to catch up (try to get to the orchard by then to have access to the two events). Otherwise, there is some avi items you can get from early quests (early on only), npc (in town and in the third part of the game), drops or crafting (accessible at the LG only). ^-^

There is alot of posible things to do and learn how to do here on sylestia (team building, exploring, themmed hunts, breeding projects, ... ) take your time and dont wory if it's a bit difficult at the start, it get easier over time. Also, to save gold, dont use town healers they are scaming you, your pet will heal on it's own overtime. ^-^
