Lately I've noticed a very odd trend while hunting for Festival pets to breed mine with. It seems that not all pets will actually be "found" through the pet search every time.
Everything else: default options, which have the full spectrum. (All maturity levels, all owner statuses, etc.)
This is how I managed to pick up on the bug:
I play the game off of two computers: my laptop, and my desktop. On my laptop I went through and bookmarked all of the pets that were up for breeding after going through the search. On my desktop, I have not.
So, one day on my desktop, I noticed that the breeding cooldowns had finally kicked down on some of my females. Great! I went through the pet search, and a majority of the pets I had previously used were nowhere to be found. I had remembered one of them by name surprisingly, a male Spooky Ryori by the name of "Death," so I figured that I'd search the pet by only species and name just to see if the owner had discontinued the public breeding.
By some odd chance, it was still set the EXACT same as before: available for public breeding for 5000 gold. But it didn't show up when SEARCHING for pets that were up for breeding. I tested this again on my laptop, and came up with the same results.
Now here's where things get a little more specific with this bug: Blood Scream Ryori. Every last Blood Scream that had once appeared on the breeding search has vanished from the list when I search it. Now none of these I had remembered specifically by name, so I decided to grab my laptop and check the bookmarks that took me straight to the pets' ID pages. Most of the Blood Scream Ryori from that list were still set up for breeding, just the same as they were before, even though the search had overlooked all of them.
I've also noticed a similar bug when searching for pets that are for sale. Under certain conditions, pets that are at the HATCHLING stage do not appear when searching for offspring pets for sale even when ALL levels of maturity are supposed to be included. I decided to test this within certain search parameters, however, and have come up with these results:
Defined Search Parameters on first attempt:
[Species] Puffadore
[Type] Offspring
[For Sale] check
[Sort] For Sale Price [By] ascending
Results: Search had COMPLETELY overlooked all hatchlings.
Results: Awww, look at all of the pretty puff babies!! They're just so cute!! *spazzes*
[In other words, Puffadore pups for over fifteen pages straight, and all for sale.]
To better point out how much of an effect this bug has, here are the number of results that both searches came up with, with the ONLY difference in search being the type of SORTING.
Search one: 112 results
Search two: 173 results
That's 61 Puffadore puppies that will be completely unseen by those who, like me, prefer to view potential purchases by price.
Note: I wasn't positive about the 'for sale' bug until I had decided to post about the 'breeding' one. I had sort-of taken notice of it before, and figured that I may as well test it just to see.
Second Note: Sorry this post is a tad lengthy, but I wanted to be as specific as possible to (hopefully) help these issues be resolved.

Yea. In the simplest way that I can respond, the search is crap. =P
It's pretty much next on the 'to do list' outside of festival/urgent content to be revamped. The new search will function much better.
With how the current search is, there isn't a way to repair or fix it. It just needs to be completely rebuilt from scratch.

I've noticed that quite a bit, but I'm just to darn lazy to care...
