Rookidee flew over the gentle town of potswick early in the morning. On TV, the Champion, Zander, was fighting against the strongest gym leader Raihan.

Alicia sat on her phone, reading through the comments of her posts as she changed the channel. She loved her brother a lot, they were very close when they were younger, but once he became champion, he was spending less and less time with her, and she was just so sick of seeing him everywhere.

It was about 8 o'clock in the morning, but it wasn't like she had any plans for today. She passed the remote to her toxel and let it mess with the remote to change the channel

"Okay snom, I'll catch you, please just come down!" Sig cried nervously from the ground. His snom had crawled up a berry tree to eat some pecha berries but was now refusing to climb down. He had attempted to climb up, but found himself unable to get higher than the lowest branch before falling. He was now just reaching his arms up to try to coax his ice grub into his arms from the ground.

Cayden sat outside,her rotomphone in her hand as she sat watching the match.She didn't really care who won,but it was good to watch and learn.Her noivern;Kaori laid her head on Cayden's watching the match too."come on...someone do something" she wasn't used to not seeing people use megastones or Z cystals,but those we're Galar's rules,along with the fact only certain pokemon are allowed,something bout the fragile ecosystem.


Oberon sat on Clementine's head,screwing around with his hair,he honestly didn't care for the Grooky's actions,but Celestia his Clefable did seem to.She kept taking grooky off his head and placing him back on the floor from the step above him.He liked sitting on the stairs in the town.It was calmer than being at home for sure.He sighed and glanced at his rotomphone,no messages,no calls,no nothing.

Alicias phone began buzzing, and she promptly picked it up, seeing Sig was on the other end.

*Ali! Help! Frosty is stuck in a tree and I cant get her down and please help me!* he yelled into the phone, causing Alicia to move the phone further away from her face.

*Ill be right there Siggy, dont worry yourself, Frosty will be fine* Alicia sighed reassuringly, hanging up on her friend. *Alright Baby, time to go be heroes* Alicia said, picking up Toxel in her arms. She walked outside and began walking towards Sigs house.

*Hey, you, Boy with the Grookey, do you mind coming with me? I may need your help with something* She said as she saw Clementine and Grookey.

He was slightly shocked but nodded,"S-sure".He quickly got up startling Celestia a big as she jogged after him,Oberon let out a slight whoop as they started moving."what do you need help with?" he asked

*My friends snom is stuck in a tree. Hes too much of a wimp to climb up and save it, and Im probably too short to save it, and my Toxel cant exactly climb trees very well* She explained as they walked. *So Ill probably need your Grookey to help get the Snom down... also, my friend, Sig, is really shy, so try not to be too startling* She said.

After another minute, they finally reached the tree where a boy was standing with her arms stretched to the branches, and a snom sat high up in the tree.

*Siggy, Im here, and I brought some help too* Alicia announced her presence, making Sig jump a little as he turn.

*Oh! Ali! And... uh* he paused seeing the new boy. *Hello...* He offered a polite greeting, stepping back nervously

Clementine waved in that awkward wave where his shoulders kinda came out and it was kinda quick and short.Oberon however saw the tree and was shook,he went and hurriedly climbed up it and danced around on one of the lower branches playfully.Clementine let out a soft sigh of stress.Celestia went over to the tree and started to seemingly lecture the little grooky who didn't seem to be paying attention.


Cayden looked around hearing a very pissed off Clefable.Gosh it had the tone her mom had when she got mad.Kaori glanced around trying to find the source of the noise too,"I wish I brought my earbuds" she muttered trying to keep watching the match

The little Snom stuck in the tree, letting out a small cry.

"So... did you see your brother's match against Raihan?" Sig asked Alicia, trying to make small talk. She rolled her eyes in response. "Er- nevermind, sorry" Sig remembered the small resentment she held towards her brother.

"We'll get Frosty down soon..." Alicia brushed off the question. "And then maybe we can finally find someone to endorse us for the gym challenge" She sighed. She knew the easiest person to ask would be her brother, but she was a little unwilling to be endorsed by him, since it would feel like nepotism, and she really wanted to earn her endorsement.

As Zander's match ended, he announced on camera that he was going back to his hometown to visit his family, but would be happy to talk to anyone who saw him.

(In SwSh you need a 'letter of endorsement' to participate in the gym challenge, which has to be signed by someone who's involved with the gym challenge i think)

"Maybe I can ask him for some tips,what'dya think Kaori?" Cayden asked them rubbing their head.They responded with that weird click,screech thing that they do."it'd be a great way to start hitting the gyms too,i bet Aunt Meria can help me get started too" she was excited to try and start,and after she beat all the gyms here she could travel round the world and beat the others.


Clementine heard them talk about endorsement for the gym challenges,"you guys are planning on competing?" he asked.Celestia seemed done with Oberon's crap,and decided to teleport up and grab him AND the little snom,dropping the grooky on the ground and giving Frosty the snom a little pat with a chime.

(It sure is... but its honestly one of my favorites, the story and every character in it is so good)

*Of course, I gotta prove how strong I am somehow Alicia said confidently. *Anyway, Ive been kind of rude, whats your name?* she asked Clementine. *Im Ali, and Snom belongs to my friend Sig* she introduced herself and her friend.

*Frosty! Im so glad youre okay* Sig cheerfully picked up his little ice bug Pokmon who make a happy sound when she was in her trainers arms.

*My toxel isnt the strongest yet, since hes a bit of a baby, but once we finally-* Alicia stopped as her phone began ringing. She hesitated at the name on the screen. *Uh. Hold on a second.* Alicia said, answering the phone.

*Hello?* *Nah Im not busy today, why?* *Really? You are?* Alicia seemed surprised at the news, but it was hard to tell if it was in a good or a bad way. *Uh y-yeah! See you soon!* Alicia hung up, staring at her phone for a few seconds.

*Sig... Zander is coming home* She said quietly, mostly to herself.

"oh..." he noticed he hadn't introduced himself,a habit he'd gotten into."I'm Clementine" he remarked,not giving his last name cause that always caused drama.He put Oberon back into his ball as not to cause any more trouble,geeze why had his dad given him a grookey?He glanced at the Snom,"So...the little fella's name is Frosty?" he almost remarked like Frosty The Snowman but kept that part to himself.Celestia looked estatic that she'd done something to help,it had been awhile.


"We should probably head home now shouldn't we Kaori" Cayden asked her noivern,who essentaily gave her a no,"Well unless you can find Gladius or another trainer OR another cool wild pokemon we're heading home" she remarked.
