Furnace Penitentiary, in the distant future, is the worlds most secure prison for young offenders. It is buried a mile beneath the Earths surface. One way in and no way out. Once you're here, you're here until you die, and for most of the inmates that don't take long - not with the sadistic guards and the bloodthirsty gangs. Sentenced to life without parole, new fish know that they have two choices: find a way out, or resign himself to a death behind bars, in the darkness at the bottom of the world.
Only in Furnace, death is the least of most people's worries. Soon you discover that a prison is a place of pure evil: where creatures in gas masks stalk the corridors at night, where giants in black suits drag screaming inmates into the shadows, where deformed beasts can be heard howling from the blood-drenched tunnels below. And behind everything is the mysterious, all-powerful warden, a man as cruel and as dangerous as the devil himself, whose unthinkable acts have consequences that stretch far beyond the walls of the prison.
Together with a bunch of inmates - some innocent kids who have been framed, others cold-blooded killers - You plan the prison break to end all prison breaks. But as he starts to uncover the truth about Furnaces deeper, darker purpose, your actions grow ever more dangerous, and you must risk everything to expose this nightmare that's hidden from the eyes of the world...

Name: Carl Donovan (Everyone called him Donovan)
Age: 18

Personality: Donovan displays an air of indifference and toughness to avoid being targeted by the various gangs in Furnace. He knows how to fight, and once was put in solitary after a fight with some gang members. He is one of the few people who has unrestricted access to the Furnace gym. While inmates make room for him and respect his reputation, Donovan does not try to go out to cause trouble and seems now that he avoids picking fights.

What you did: Five years earlier, when he first got thrown in Furnace, Carl Donovan was incarcerated as an eleven-year-old for the murder of his mother's abusive boyfriend, Ryan. According to Donovan, Ryan was beating his mother every night and it had gotten to the point where Donovan snapped and killed him with a candlestick.

Personality: Let's get one thing straight. She does not belong in Furnace. If she doesn't get friends who are tougher than her, she's bound to get picked on, possibly killed, by the Skulls. She's very shy, kind of weak unless she absolutely needs to stand up for herself. She only speaks to people she trusts and other than that, doesn't speak at all.

What you did: She was wrongly convicted of killing her best friend. A blacksuit actually killed her friend and she had to stand there and watch them do it

sweet! i'm not on as much as I was before thanks to work, but I should be able to get on at least every other day and keep up.

She isn't a bad person, just a little reckless and prone to do things she knows she shouldn't be doing. She's quite smart especially at things such as math and science (she's excellent with technology). She is quite adaptive and good at learning things on the go. She acts tough to stay alive, her demeanor really depends on the situation she's in. She has built her reputation as generally approachable, but not be messed with. She won't go starting fights and looking for trouble, most of the time she's quite well behaved, but she can still hold her own in a fight.
Even though Furnace is big on "survival of the fittest", she looks down on those who prey on the weak. She will try to defend people who can't defend themselves at the moment but show promise, that is, as long as she won't get hurt doing it. She will put herself first in this kind of situation.

Her best friend was constantly being picked on by a bully, she repeatedly threatened him but he never stopped, one day she'd had enough and tackled him, in the process she accidentally crushed his windpipe.
Also, might have hacked some stuff. Possibly made up the above story to sound tougher.
