Your hand goes right through it and you just feel air. Maybe the river could just be an illusion? You and your pet both seem unaffected. Maybe you could try get into the river like your pet and see what would happen?
I blink and set my feet into the river, sitting at the edge so as not to fall in or something.

I pull my bow from where it was sticking out of my backpack, a snatch an arrow from my quiver. I aim carefully and slowly- pull the arrow back- and let go.
You carefully climb the trees. After a short while, you look down and point your Sylesti to a tree nearby, that you could see clearly.
And hen she settles in. And probably dozens off too. Because why not.

You feel nothing at all. Just... air. It feels the same, as if there river wasn't even there. Even the bones don't do anything.

The Vorkid is dazed for a few seconds but it seems like it needed more than that to finish off. It whips its head around and sees you.
The Vorkid scurries over, and starts to climb the tree.

Your Pet start snoring, after a long day.
You are about to fall asleep, until you hear sound beneath you.
A myconid is there, and it's looking at your pet, probably because of the snores. It starts creeping towards your Sylesti ready to attack.

I grit my teeth and yank another arrow from my bag [quiver? sorry i cant remember which i specified xD] this time clutching it by the steam like a weapon. It it gets close enough I can stab it.
