Found out about this because I was feeling nostalgic and didn't want to make another Facebook account to revive Ovipets. I'm kind of just here to procrastinate various things.

Welcome to sylestia, you came just in time as the summer festival have started today, it's the perfect place to train, catch tagged pets, get a good amount of gold from chests and get rare items from various bosses.
On a not realy related topic, what is/are your favorite colors? I want to get you a little somthing a welcome gift ^-^

I was actually wondering about the mechanics of capturing sylvestis? I keep using traps when the one I'm battling is on low health, but they keep failing. The traps are expensive for me, too. Is there something I'm missing here?

Maby you are not using the right type of trap for the pet or you are just unlucky. You can get 3 free traps by days if you go pick up a themmed egg in the festival zone, go to the underwater cave entrance, there is a high chance of you finding an egg inside. ^-^

It should have better base stat then most pets you can find in the wild and while it don't have green it fit your avatar, i hope you will like it. ^-^

yea, tho white and green star pets are usualy not worth it, i would advise you to save your gold for when you get ferther in the game/ if you find a rare ennemy those are usualy themmed or event based pets and could be worth quite a bit depending of what they are. ^-^
