A long long time ago, there were two siblings, now called the Poseidon and the Neptune. They both fell in love with the same person. One day, that person drowned in the sea, leaving the siblings heartbroken. In their grief, the two of them made a curse. Poseidon and Neptune made half of the curse each.

Poseidons half of the curse made it so that a person could be turned into a siren, and those Sirens lost their memories of their old lives, and became unable to love. They gained the ability to breathe underwater and lure people into the ocean with their beautiful voice, and thy also didnt age, but they could be killed, and when they died, they would turn into seafoam. They also made it so that sirens retained one talent from their previous lives, the sirens dont know what their talent is, but its usually pretty obvious.

Neptune made it so that a Sirens could become a human again if they kissed a heartbroken human in the ocean, and gave sirens the ability the see broken hearts, which glowed blue in their eyes. The requirements to transfer the curse is that the human has to be heartbroken, the siren and human must be in the ocean, and the human has to want to give up their previous life for a second chance.

Its been rumored that Poseidon and Neptune are still around, and in the area, so many sirens will try to find them and become human again and feel whole and get their second chance at life.

How they became a Siren: She was living in a beach house with her fianc after they recently got engaged. The two loved each other very much and were high school sweethearts. One day, when they were riding bikes into town, he was struck by a car and killed. She was heartbroken, and was walking down the beach lost in thought one morning when she was lured into the sea by a sirens song and was then turned into a Siren

Appearance: Short brown hair with crystal blue eyes that always look sad (which isnt saying much for a siren, since most of them always look sad) and a deep blue tail.
Other: she chose the name Akrasia because of her preexisting knowledge of vocabulary, and found the definition of the word very fitting to her situation. She wants to write a novel about her time as a siren and pass it off as a fantasy story when she becomes human again, and find/get revenge on the one who broke her heart (as she doesnt know what happened to him)

How they became a Siren: He was really into astrology and tarot cards growing up, and even though the stars predicted his heartbreak, he was still willing to go through it. he was pretty much the only openly gay kid in his high school (he had an awkward birthday, so he was one of the older kids) and another boy, one who he found very nice and attractive, asked him to prom after they had been friends for a while. On prom night, he discovered that he was only asked out as a joke, and people recorded it to bully and harass him. He ran to a nearby fishing dock to hide and cry, when a siren lured him in and turned him.
Personality: quiet and reserved, he tries to hide anything about himself from everyone
Appearance: fair skin with lots of freckles and short, curly, dark hair and hazel eyes.
Other: he can get small glimpses into the future, usually lasting only a millisecond
