I have a friend (who I won't name) who may or may not be able to keep playing due to some players *ahem* being....not so PG-13. IDK if this is part of the reason or not but younger players who join might have to leave because of some language used.

I know it's already part of everything but maybe there could be a "safe" forum or a feature that disabled certain words or something or a marking that showed that the thread was only for "clean and PG-13" talk. I know it's probably a lot of work (and a long shot) but it might make some parents more open to the idea that their kids are playing on a game that takes this stuff into consideration..

Now I don't mean Neopet-style word censoring (seriously, no mistyped posts? and maybe TOO much censoring but that's just me) but like no cuss words, no extreme gore, etc. etc.

Or even just a notice on the forum (besides users putting "PG-13/16" and "No cussing on their front posts, because half the time people don't read them) that shows Oh, nothing extreme.

I have never seen a post that was not PG-13.

PG-13 includes some cursing ((not to major)), gore, and even suggestive content.

Trust me, some things may seem not so PG-13, but they are.

Besides, if you run into a thread with some bad things, just PM Krinadon about the person(s)/thread.

Technically, the site itself is 13+. The privacy policy actually states that the site is not designed to attract players under that age, and there is a checkbox on the sign up page that states you are over the age of 13. While there is nothing that says under 13 are not allowed to use the site, it is not meant to cater towards those under that age.

Not trying to be harsh or anything, but if someone that young is not able to handle pg-13+, the forums may not be the best place for them until they are old/mature enough to handle it. There are other aspects of the site, such as exploration and breeding etc that the younger players can still use without the forums/chatrooms, if they are that sensitive. And I have never come across anything over pg-13 on the general sylestia-related forums myself. While things like rps etc may contain more mature content, its generally pretty tame as it is and anything overly profane is usually taken care of pretty fast by krin. Younger players can simply avoid those types of areas. There are ways to get aroudn th "public" aspect of those areas (ie: the roleplay recruitment forums can be used to find pg rp partners without going into any potentially mature threads, or only accessing threads that the user in question creates themselves in the off-topic etc forums)

Generally speaking, from my experience the amount of younger players on the site is vastly smaller than the amount of older players. I don't see a reason why those of us who fall under more mature levels should have to go out of our way to accommodate them.
