What is the best region/type of enemy to defeat to get:

High quality gear
Experience orbs
Essences
Egglings (not enemy drop, but still)

I've gotten 3 experience orbs in Enigmatic Grotto, and a few more lower level ones in Nightfall Bandit Camp. Also got two Egglings in the Fairy Grove, I think it was. But what rules govern these lucky drops? Is it entirely luck of the draw, or do certain types of enemies drop them more? (I know only Sylesties drop Essences, but I've yet to get an Essence from a defeated Sylesti.) Do Experience Orbs only appear as drops after you've beaten an area? Do they only appear in certain areas?

Also, a bonus question LOL...I've spent a TON of traps and only been able to catch ONE lousy Sylesti lol. How bad are the odds? How can I increase them? I see a Sylesti I like and drop its health to 10% or less and still can't catch the floof. xD Bad floof! Anywhoo, any tips on capturing? I used the lesser and standard traps, to no avail. Or other best ways to get new Sylesties, short of buying/Essences?

For high quality gear, the dungeons (Nightfall Bandit Dungeon and DotF) offer some good equipment for beating the various bosses and minibosses. The Lost Grove has the best equipment overall in the game, but it's not accessible until about lv60+. During a festival, if you're able to beat bosses, they can drop epic or legendary gear sometimes. No luck? Try the broker.

Experience orbs and essences are just random drops, I believe. No real patterns that I know of.

For egglings... I don't know. TLG is easily the worst place to try to find nests. Fest zones toss nests up with some regularity, though some people seem to have more luck than others. I seem to remember getting a bunch of abandoned pets from the first area of zones, but they rarely had more than 1c, if ever.

Traps... either they work or they don't. *shrug* Stronger traps may have a better chance of succeeding, but even they often fail. Master traps are 100% guaranteed, but they're expensive, and most people reserve them for rare pets: themed nephs or ferries, legendary or mythical pets, etc.

Edit: You can also obtain egglings from the scale shop with relative ease. The more scales you pay, the more traits the pet will have, generally. The most valuable pets are the ones for about 1950+ scales.
