I try to look non threatening. Cats usually don't understand what people are saying, but they understand feelings. I am sorry to startle you. I mean no harm I promise. I think.
"No, no, no, no! Fortunately, it isn't and never has belonged to me."
She blinks at you before squinting, seeming to finally notice the extent of the injuries that you've sustained. She lands back on the ground in front of you and crouches down, using one of her fings to poke your shoulder.
"Oh! Are you okay there? I probably should have asked that first!"
What should you do?
"Scratched, burned, confused. I was not in this world yesterday."

I chuckle and turn around. I put the creature on Wrenn's shoulder.

"Who's there?" I ask, looking from one figure to another.
You continue along the hallway, leaving the small creature happily nestled on its window seal in the sun. You make it the stairs and continue down them and into the lower levels of the rather pretty building.
Just next to the stairs there is a large set of open wooden doors that lead into a room lit warmly by a fire. Several people are sitting around the fire on various different seating plans chatting quietly to each other.
They really don't seem too enthusiastic about coming down from their perch in the darkness high above your head, despite your best efforts to be approachable. The smaller one does take a small step forward, but it doesn't move any further than that...
She giggles somewhat manically and stands back up again, making sure to gather up all of the stones that you had dropped. She takes a step towards you and basically picks you up like you weighted nothing.
"I'm not good with the whole not dying thing so I'm going to take you to my friend. Sound good?"
Wrenn shrieks again much more horrified this time and throws himself backward away from the small creature straight into a thick bush. He practically disappears through the leaves of the bush as he flails about.
The tiny whisp creature yelps in delight and jumps back across to you. It floats up to your shoulder and curls up happily giggling to itself.
