Taking a quick glance out one of the windows you to decide that it must be around mid-afternoon, maybe a bit earlier.
Taking the small key with you, you leave your room making sure to lock it behind you just in case. To one side there is only a dead end with a large window and a few more numbered rooms. To the other side, there is much more space along with the staircase you'd entered from and several other numbered rooms.
You dash straight out the door and before you know it you are clear of the raging flames and safely rolling down into the grass with a grunt of pain sending all of the stones you collected cascading across the ground. You sit up just as the entire flaming building collapses in on itself in a flash of sparks and flames. Distantly you hear someone yell something, but you can't make out what was yelled.
The faint outline of the footprints appear to be those of a person with rather small feet. You follow them carefully through the undergrowth, the trail fades to nothing more than a few slight dents several times, but you manage to keep on track.
The footprints eventually lead out into a clearing with a small building sitting right in the middle facing away from you.
The flowers curl up and swirl around you until you are unable to see anything but the bright blue glow of the flowers. The bright blue moves and waves, fading in and out of saturation until an entire world is formed around you, covered with large blue flowers...
You stumble across the darkened room searching for anything that could be used as a light source. It takes you a second, but you remember that you have a torch in your backpack. Taking it out of your bag and flicking the switch lights up a small portion of the space. It seems to be way bigger than you'd originally thought, tall jagged cave walls extend way up into the darkness. A path of broken stones leads off into the shadows past the limit of your torch's beam.
What should you do?

I am surprised of the size. Instead of climbing the stairs, I follow the broken stones.
