Good question there. I'd say just use whatever other gene you like but if there aren't any, then you can leave the slot blank and disrupt the trait in at a later time.

Disruptors require one of 2 things - the intended or potential slot can have either a VISIBLE, or it can be EMPTY as long as there is a different visible on a pet. If you have a carry in the V-lace slot, you won't be able to disrupt the V-lace in. While at least 1 visible trait is required for the philter to work, the visible doesn't necessarily have to be in the V-lace slot.

So for example, you have a pet like this:

M1: Visible
M2: Carry
M3: Carry

After using a V-lace Philter, the result would be this:

G# : Visible V-lace
M1: empty*
M2: Carry
M3: Carry

*M1, once visible, is now an empty slot; disruptors change a pet's traits but do not add to the number of traits a pet has. Rather, one trait is sacrificed for the disrupted one.

As for how many you'll need, at minimum you'll only need one, preferably used a male so you can rapidly bred the trait into the gene pool with numerous offspring.

Okay, so here is the situation with that:

I will be starting my project with three pets. Two male, one female. I was going to use all carries, but now it seems that 1vis 2carry may work better.

**Visible traits in bold, carries in italics

Male 1-
G3
G2
G1

Male 2-
M3
M2
M1

Female 1-
M1
G2
G1

Does this look like it would work?

^^ Yup, it will work.

To get the most potential traits out of your results I recommend Female1 and Male2 (max result - G12 M123) for the first generation of breeding, then breed their female offspring to Male1. With his G3 specifically being a visible he can easily plug in the trait that will be missing from all F1/M2 offspring. :)

Thank you! You have been such a big help! If you want one of the finished pets, let me know because I would be happy to give a couple to you for free :)

You're welcome; I've been a breeding guru for many at this point so by now it's habit. ^^;

As for your offer, mm, I'd have to see what the project is first and foremost? I'm only running about a dozen projects at a time while housing like 300 or so project breeders from my finished work and a couple thousand regennables to use for later projects. @__@ Space is so very limited.

^^; I do appreciate the offer but I think I'll pass; I'm not too big on pinks, lol.

If you ever have other questions about breeding and such feel free to PM me :)
