It's so expensive because it has very good/rare prizes, that normally cost a lot anyways. It would break the economy to release them for much cheaper.

You may not be able to afford it this fest, but keep training up your pets and doing missions to earn gold, and you might be able to have enough to enter it's equivelent during the Winter Fest!
