I was doing just fine until I hit the point where it suggests you have a third party member. I cannot survive any fight in the bandit dungeon OR the shrine. I also cannot afford the 25k for a third member.

My two sylesties are

Owner: Slybeex
Level: 27
Physical Damage: 113
Magical Damage: 50
Strength: 96 (25 + 0)
Intelligence: 99 (26 + 0)
Dexterity: 94 (25 + 0)
Agility: 101 (24 + 0)
Physical Mitigation: 18.85%
Magical Mitigation: 18.47%
Critical Hit Chance: 13.15%
Accuracy Bonus: 8.58%
Avoidance Chance: 8.84%
Quickness Rating: 19.50

and

Owner: Slybeex
Level: 27
Physical Damage: 131
Magical Damage: 46
Strength: 101 (20 + 0)
Intelligence: 92 (24 + 0)
Dexterity: 100 (22 + 0)
Agility: 97 (24 + 0)
Physical Mitigation: 18.42%
Magical Mitigation: 18.54%
Critical Hit Chance: 14.79%
Accuracy Bonus: 9.40%
Avoidance Chance: 9.54%
Quickness Rating: 19.70

What can I do next to level them up to being able to stand a chance against the next set of foes? Should I just save money and purchase the third slot? Help!

Alrighty so one thing you can do is work on their equipment.

Shadow and light are good choices, BUT the equipment you have for them isn't the best. Most of their equipment is strength-based, while shadow and light are both intelligence-based elements.

See if you can buy/get Illusionist gear for them. The rarer the better - red or orange equips are your best bet, though purple isn't bad. Evoker stuff would also work if you can't find cheap illusionist.

I'm sending you a couple items too.

Okay thanks! I checked my equipment and see no red or orange so that would be the key eh? I will work on getting some. Would it be beneficial to level up some strength based fighters to use the equipment I do have? I could do that as well! I don't know how to find gifted items, do they just show up? Thanks for everything, much appreciated.

Remember to check your trades... (I hope I sent them to the right person-)

If you're going to use a strength pet for your third slot, I'd recommend air - it's a strength-based attacking element.

If you need gold, I'd suggest doing Missions to build some up so you can buy the third slot and add an Air or Fire pet to the team (given that the other two are Int pets, maybe an Air to cover Physical damage.)

Name: Sly Bee
Level: 27
Element: Shadow
Prof.: 1HP
Relic: Assassin, legendary, lv15
Armor: Disciple, epic, lv25
Acc.: Thunder's Bracelet (Str/Dex), rare, lv20
Acc.: Disciple, rare, lv20

> Should be the lead pet of the party
> HP prof should be fine
> Needs Illusionist (Int/Agi) gear
> Relic especially needs to be replaced, as Relics provide the bulk of a pet's offensive capability. If her Relic was the exact same rarity and level, but Illusionist or Evoker, she'd have base damage output of 131, but as it is her output is 46 because it's an Assassin equip.
> Disciple is fine as a placeholder, but is preferably replaced when possible.

Name: Boo Berry
Level: 27
Element: Light
Prof.: 1HP
Relic: Assassin, epic, lv15
Armor: Thunder's Armor (Str/Dex), rare, lv20
Acc.: Disciple, rare, lv20
Acc.: Bolt's Bracelet (Int/Agi), rare, lv20

> Light Healers do better with Int profs, rather than HP profs.
> Same issue with the relic, it's a physical-type equip on a Magical-element pet.
> Light Healers do best with Illusionist and/or Evoker gear- most people use Evoker (Int/Dex) on Light Healers to raise the chance of Criticals to get better heals.

Items sent to you should be in the Player Trades waiting to be accepted.

Red equipmment (Mystical/Mythical) only drops as a rare drop from the assorted bosses in the two dungeons, and tends to be relatively expensive on the Broker because of it.
Yellow/gold equipment (legendary) drops from bosses on a more frequent basis, and can also be obtained from yellow/gold Mission Reward Satchels.

When you do get enough gold to fill your third slot, I would recommend you make that third pet a fire pet. Of all the elements, only attenuation to that one allows a pet to attack multiple targets at the same time. It turned out to be a lifesaver when I got to the Faerina Shrine quest(s).
