- Age Of Night -
A hundred years after the most recent Wings Of Fire book, hybrids are frowned upon. They are shunned, and often banished from their tribes for simply having mixed blood. Sometimes, the parents are too.
NightWings are different. They couldn't care less about other hybrids, only the ones that are part NightWing. They keep the hybrids locked up, and study them. None of them know why, exactly, they are being studied for, but they know that one wrong move, and they will be killed.
Just because NightWings keep their hybrids doesn't mean they like them. The hybrids are locked away, treated terribly, and live miserable lives. Because of this, six hybrids - one with blood from each of the other six tribes - decide to try to escape. Can they do it?

- My Character -
Name - Scorpion
Age - 8
Gender - Female
Other Tribe - SandWing
Appearance - Looks like a NightWing but with a barbed tail, SandWing back spines, and gold flecks on the undersides of her wings and on her body, as well as in the corners of her eyes. She is quite small for stragon standerds, but strong and powerful.
Personality - Silent but not shy, smart, cunning, sometimes sassy and sarcastic. She hates NightWings for what they have done to her, as well as other dragons in general. Her hate and anger makes up the burning heart of her soul, and some day she will snap and her burning rage will escape.
Strengths - Smart, physically strong, very weak mind reading, fire-breath, venomous tail. Animus, but only used the powers once and is terrified of them.
Weaknesses - Water, ice, cold, often blinded by her hate of other dragons can't suck up her pride enough to work with other dragons.
Likes - Silence, playing with fire, flying, plotting revenge, alone time
Dislikes - Water, being cold, crowds
Fears - NightWings, deep water, has a totally irrational fear of rabbits
Crush - Secretly likes Seastar, but acts like she absolutly hates him.
Other - Chocolate
The stone on the floor was cold and wet from the early showers they had gotten through the bars in his cell. Corruption laid on the damp rock, enjoying the now sunny weather poking through the bars. This, of course, wasn't his winter cell which was small and quiet. In his three-season cell, he cherished the sun and rain he was given in the nicer weather. Of course, it was always cold here with the Nightwings, they liked limited sun unlike him who needed the sun to stay healthy.
He could hear the other hybrids wailing to get out or to just straight out be killed. He rolled over onto his side and watched the outside world once more before shutting his eyes to escape the cries and screams of this horrid place.

Seastar sighed, his blue eyes flickering open and shut as he tried to keep himself from sleeping. He refused to let go of the hope that he would come up with a way to leave this wretchedness he was told to call home. The Seawing hybrid glanced around at the other 'rooms' which obviously felt more like cages or cells to the other hybrids- including himself. "Anyone awake?" He asked suddenly, wanting to converse with someone instead of wallowing in his misery.

The Rainwing hybrid fluttered open his eyes, frustrated that he had been wakened. He got up and looked through a little hole in the wall beside him. It was that dang Seawing who could never just sleep. ``I am.`` He groaned, flopping back onto the floor. He felt like the Nightwings drugged him again to make him tired. If they did, it was working like a charm.

*Inside grumbling*Why now?!.Blackice flapped her wings frustratedly and blew a puff of ice out of the bars."Course i'm up..." she tossed a rock out of the cell it landed with a clang."Stupid yammering Nightwings" she mumbled remembering the trouble she had given them earlier.Tossing food at them...except for now she was hungry. She curled up and started to rythmaticaly puff out smoke/steam.

Scorpion lifted one wign that was covering her head and flicked the freezing droplets of water off.
"I am, Barnacle Brain," she hissed back, waving her barbed tail at him through the bars. It had no venom, of course, but how was the stupid SeaWing to know that? Scorpion sighed. She did, in face, have a crush on the goregous SeaWing, but she could never let that get out. Three Moons above, it would ruin her entire reputation as the moody, angry SandWing who hated everyone!
Coming to her feet gracefully from where she had been coiled in the corner of her tiny cell, she stalked over to the stone bars that separated her cell from Seastar's. Normal stone any of them could have broken, but this? It was all animus-enchanted from over a hundred years ago.
For a moment Scorpion was facinated by the way Seastar's blue-green-black scales caught the light, then snapped herself out of it and grumbled, "What do you want, Starfish?"

He listened to the two others hiss at each other like dragonets before he hopped onto his little ledge and curled up. ``Be quiet now!`` He twirled his talons before putting his head under his wing to sleep.

The typically confident and well controlled Seawing stuttered a bit as the female Sandwing hissed back at him. Unfortunately, her disapproval of him was the only thing that seemed to bother him. He didn't even know why either!
"Nothing," He said, coughing a bit to cover his slight stutter at the start of the word. His cool blue eyes met hers, and then he looked at the others around quickly. "I mean, obviously something. I've been thinking. We all complain and everything but we've never actually tried anything expect breaking the cells. There has to be a way out if there's a way in. We just haven't found one yet."

Cold fingers of wind tugged playfully at smooth, leather edges. The faint whistle of darting air sliding against scales and membrane echoed throughout the hollow cage.
The stone carried far off and interesting noises that seemed to lull the eldest of the dragonets into a drunken state. His large, bulky mass was almost invisible in the shadows of the mudstained stones around him.
The tic, tic, tic, of water dripping in small, cascading waves poured from the slanted bars that provided weak sunlight. Dust motes danced playfully, inviting others to play in their dizzying games of chase in the sunbeams.
It was peaceful, almost serene.
