Hi!! Im a little new to this game, but how am I supposed to get the second in my party open?

If I recall correctly, there should be a place in the town where you can buy the second slot. Check the plaza?

The second party slot can be unlocked at the Esior Plaza. Later, once you reach Umbra Forest, the third slot is unlockable at the Saerielle Plaza.
