The woman just glared at the gun, she seemed to seriously being considering cutting it down. She didn't reply to your comment. She still looked mad. You noticed fresh wounds along her skin, her wings were half and half, only the tips were still metal. The cells were always cold, you were closed to it. Those on the island were also brought up surrounded by the walls, you couldn't remember what it was like off the island - if you'd ever been off the island.

You guessed from the light coming in it was around late afternoon. You'd missed lunch that day, probably because they were busy handling this woman, you seemed to recognize her. You weren't sure if you'd seen her before, or if she was similar to someone else. She seemed to be determined. In an hour or so you'd be allowed out and escorted to dinner, today was the day off where there were no lessons, experiments or gym time.

I sighed. I should probably tell my suggestion to her before she gets herself killed, I thought. She looked ready to rip the gun out of the wall. "You know," I drawled, "If you keep that up and they shoot you, they might hit me as well, and I would prefer to leave here alive, not dead."

I lifted a wing and let the weak light shine on my face. "I'm Rowen," I offered, holding out my hand. Gods, my skin was so pale. (I forgot to mention Rowen is quite vain)

The woman didn't reply. You heard a chuckle over the intercom, "She thinks she's going to escape, boss" a sly voice said, there was silence for a second. Then you heard a slap and a whimper. The intercom went to static, but you still felt watched. The head guards knew everything happening inside the cell you were both in. Marionette gritted her teeth visibly, not looking at you or taking your hand. She let her wings turn to normal and fold. She didn't seem afraid of the gun as it stayed out. She just stared at it silently. You'd seen people be shot with guns before, they usually woke up. You'd never seen anyone die or get seriously injured from that type of gun, you weren't sure what happened though. You'd never felt it, or remembered feeling it.

I half spread my wings and rose from the bed, stalking over to the gun. I didn't want to be shot, of course, but I also didn't want to be afraid. From up close, I could see the fish-eye camera and mike on the gun.

Baring my teeth, which were all sharp like a raven's beak, at them, I hissed, "Think that's funny, do you? I will and we'll see who's laughing then, shall we?"

Although the gun had both, you know there were cameras on all sides of the room, the office could watch your every move and hear your every word, even if you whispered slowly. The woman looked at you calmly, her eyes had a dark warning on them. She then lashed out and you felt an intense pain in your gut as you felt yourself hit the cold floor. You heard something drop and you saw a small, silver pellet bounce across the floor. The woman turned away and walked to be closer to the door, looking away from you. She still didn't speak. It seemed like she'd hurt you to stop you from getting shot from behind. You couldn't trust that behind every stone was some sort of ranged weapon. No where was safe. Outside the door alone were four heavily armed guards. There was a stiff tension in the room.

I gasped as the breath was knocked out of me, then felt gingerly to see if I had broken anything. Her wings certainly hurt, I thought. I couldn't tell, but it would leave a large bruise.

"Thank you," I said to the woman. Then I cocked my head to the side and looked directly into her eyes and said, hoping that the guards couldn't understand, "Ita, quid dicis? Ex una hinc et dabimus tibi?"

*Latin. 'So, what do you say? Shall we get out of here together?'

She raised her left wing. You heard your voice play back to you, but this time speaking the islands language, English. As far as you could tell, it would only bruise. Nothing was broken or bleeding. It seemed like it was over too much of an area to be her wings, it was more likely her elbow. The woman continued looking away from you. She didn't seem to be much of a speaker, and maybe wasn't considering team work at all.

I cursed colorfully as my words were translated and played back. So much for that... I would try to escape at dinner.

"Why?" I asked the woman, walking over and standing in front of her so she had to look at me. "If you're not going to help me escape, or at least try, why did you save me?"

The woman looked up above the door and slowly said, "I would like to attend dinner." the sun was starting to go down. The woman seemed to know the rules and regulations. She put her arms above her head and waited, the door opened and two guards took her, closing the door and leaving you alone. She seemed to have little to no interest in you so far.

Your stomach sank, there was a high chance you wouldn't be allowed to attend dinner and social time. The guards were probably on high alert of you trying to escape due to you talking about it so much, the safest place for them to keep an eye on you was in your cell.

I hissed angrily and glared at the camera. "I would like to be escorted to dinner as well," I snarled at the closest camera, tucking my wings in tightly and waiting for something to happen. "Point guns at me if you'd like, but at least point guns at me there."
