So. 900 days. Though, I did drop off of the planet for nearly two years and became boo boo the fool upon returning, but hey, now we've got Ferrikki so I can live with my confusion and re-learning process. In honor of this 900 day anniversary, I wanted to do a little contest! I'm an absolute sucker for design contests, as I love to see creative minds splattering digital paint on a Sylesti canvas. I would love for you to participate (also, free stuff- even though its not food)! And sorry about the missing apostrophe in the title; I didn't realize it disappeared when the page crashed/reloaded, and it's driving me insane as well, haha.

Rules: Design a Sylesti for each of the two themes given. Post only FOUR images, one male and one female for each. Please submit your entry only once! Ping me when you post.

THIS ENDS Monday, June 25th @11:59 AM Server Time. If there are less than 10 participants, I will extend the deadline. At the close, the winners will be announced ASAP and prizes will be sent/set up.

Now, the themes are as follows:

Scary Story Sylesti. Artwork done by Stephen Gammell for the series written by Alvin Schwartz. (The illustrations in these books used to freak me out so much that I would have to hide the books before going to bed, haha.)


Sixth Station Sylesti. One of my favorite scenes and soundtrack from the Miyazaki film "Spirited Away." This part always seems so eerie, empty, hollowed and raw, like the part of life you've tried to forget. There's a certain sorrowful stillness about it which has stuck with me for years.

I know it's slightly tinted red but I feel that it makes it a bit more creepy and authentic.
