I know a lot has changed during my long absence, but anyone know the rationale for this particular change? I liked knowing the names of my rivals, liked looking at the stables of people with that much dedication to the challenge.Were people being harassed or something?

We had issues in the past of harassment and resentment, yes.
So for everyone's sake, it was just made anonymous. Same reasoning why Eggling Auctions are anonymous.
