Do the different trees make a big difference? How do I know which tree I want to build?
Basically, just the outline of the whole proficiency tree concept.
Thanks!

@Marigold, the different trees have different skills that work in different ways. To know which is suited to you/your pets, you'd have to look at each individual tree's skills and see how they benefit you. (You may want to start looking at the very top ones)
The passive stats are usually constant within each tree. All 3 trees have a passive health build, and then 3 (earth/air/water) have a str build and the other 3 (fire/dark/light) have an int build.
The rest of the skills available are often attacks (at least the first ones available to you when your pet reaches lvl25). There's different effects to them for each tree (ie fire's lvl25 attack hits more than one enemy, light's lvl25 attack has a chance for you to heal). It's up to you which you'd want to use.
Most people build within one tree instead of spreading their points across the board. You can only reach higher attacks and skills by building your points within one tree anyways.
Otherwise, how you build them is up to you.

Here's some guides that help with party building (which have to do with trees as well)
