Have pets with decent stats is really helpful, then having a team dedicated to certain skills.

My team is Earth (1 health 1 strength), Light (2 Intelligence), Fire (2 Intelligence)
So far it's been pretty easy, though bosses are always a pain in the butt. Having gear that is high in a particular stat is really helpful too. ^ ^ If you need to, go to the previous area and grind to get a few more levels or items.

There are some guides to the different areas here: https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?forum=5

I suggest getting a few and leveling them up really high ASAP.

My current team is Shadow (tank), Light (support), and Air (attack).

Once you get good gear, youll be better off.

(Also, if you get stuck plotwise, there's the Sylestia Walthrough in the player guides forum)

Important things to learn:
1. What element does best at what
2. What kind of equipment goes best to what pet element/party assignment

(also, high stats may make things a bit easier, but are in no way necessary)

At the moment you have on your party
Spirit
Lv17
Light
1HP
Equips:
Relic: Assassin, rare lvl 5
Armor: Illusionist, epic lvl 5
Accessory: str/dex, uncommon lvl 5
Accessory: int/agi, uncommon lvl 5

Chill
Lv2
Air
1___
Equips:
Relic: -
Armor: -
Accessory: -
Accessory: -

1. You'll want to level up your second pet to probably at least level 10.
2. Spirit's equips
- Spirit is a Light pet, which is a magical element, but she has an Assassin (str/agi) relic. (although it is an old relic, from before it was fixed so that str based relics always gave phys attack boost and int based ones always gave magic attack boost, new ones from post that update have better stats)
She has a Str/dex accessory, too.
As she's your tank at the moment, so you'll want to get her Int/Agi equips, both of higher rarity and level.

3. Second pet, currently Chill, has not had the prof point assigned- you'll want to go with either Str or Dex, as she's an Air pet.
She needs both levelling and equipment (Air pets want Myrmidon (str/dex) gear)

You could try levelling pets by doing missions in esior's haven (there is also a guide on missions in the player guides forum)

Light really does better as a healer than tank, but before you get your third party slot in Sanctuary of Saerielle, it'll do.
best Tank elements are Water, Shadow, and Earth
Attacker elements are Fire and Air
