You can only buy genetic test kits in the diamond shop for 1,000 diamonds(or maybe 1,500 I am not sure). You cannot trade them, and after you buy one, you cannot buy anymore.

I mean, that's not quite correct, or at least, probably needs a bit of further clarification.
A Standard Genetic Test Kit, the one-use ones, can only be obtained nowadays from the newbie start kit.
Previously they could be obtained from the Wheels during the Festivals, but the Wheels were discontinued.
As such, while there are Standard Genetic Test Kits on the Trade Broker, they are expensive.
Technically, they are meant to be a buyable item, but the location where they would be bought was never implemented or. Something like that.

The Exceptional Genetic Test Kit, the one Typhix mentioned, is bought from the diamond shop, normally for 1500 diamonds, but for 1000 during a sale. This item can only be bought once, and cannot be traded from the account, but it is an infinite-use item (which is the reason for those first two points.)

As such, if you cannot afford one, you can almost definitely find people who would be willing to test your pets for you in the region or general chats, or in the Groups, Guilds, Clubs, and Services forum.

The first points also apply to the Standard Genetic Scanner and Exceptional Genetic Scanner (and I have. No clue about Infertility Kits??)
