When allocating proficiency points for a magic user, does allocating point to intelligence make the magic (healing, for example) stronger or is it dexterity or a mixture of both?
I am not really sure, when it comes to magic, what makes it more powerful, I assumed it was intelligence but it seems dexterity, be it fire or healing type, might have just as much impact.

My understanding is that intellegence/strength increase the damage/healing of your normal attacks. Dexterity increases your chances of critical hits (agility increases your chance to dodge attacks).
So, both are important, but I have no idea where the sweet spot is between dexterity and intellegence.

Ah..ok. I began to get a bit confused after reading some posts on allocations and wasn't sure what the attributes would affect.
Thanks.

I think dexterity might effect how often the basic attack heals. Its usually a 50% chance but dex buffs that, but I might be wrong.

Str/Int is Power of the attack (and the pet's defences in the respective stat), Dex as a stat increases things like Critical hit chances, pet accuracy, and calculating quickness/what order attacks are calculated in, Agi is mitigation/defences, dodging enemy attacks, and another part of attack order calculation.
Fire ability Fireball uses a 50% chance on Crit hits to inflict its debuff, Burning (aka, Dex is good for Fire pets.)
Light's Fairy Light is just 50% chance of activating heal regardless of it being crit or not, but high Dex means that if it triggers the % when you crit, the amount healed will be proportional to the crit damage dealt

Thank you..that actually helped me out. I might have to reassess my pets or at least review their armor and stuff to increase the effectiveness of their abilities.
Edit: My tank pet is getting his tail handed to him quite frequently and the Water element is just not doing anything for him anymore.
SO..I may bite the bullet and change him to a Shadow tank and buff his dexterity and agility some. For my magic user I had to sacrifice a tad of intellect buffing (from equipment) and try to raise his dexterity too.
In the Lost Grove my other pets do good but my tank just gets pummeled and I am not sure I want to wait through hundreds of battles just so his expertise level raises enough that his "Frost" will last longer and absorb more damage.
Meanwhile I need to wait for my new party to hatch and grow so I can see what I can do with them.
