Kai sighed, rubbing her head as she made her way to the side of the school beside the road. She dropped down onto the grass. It had been a terrible day so far, with her friends seeming more bothersome than usual, and her failing of one of the last test grades for the year. The hot summer air hit her skin and she wiped her sweating brow.

"That earns you a week of detention, Mr. Owens." The woman said.
"What? It was a harmless prank!" Dean countered, crossing his arms. The principal glared and he stood, turning. "Fine." He exited the office, slamming the door as he did. He walked a few paces down the lawn, then broke out into a sprint.

As the musky dry air plowed threw the grass and up to the pages of the book, the boy whom was reading it simply placed a fingure on the pages to keep them from blowing away. Aaron normally spent the lunch alone like this, it gave him the opportunity to read more. Sure he wasn't supposed to venture off campus but it wasn't like anyone would miss him. Besides he didn't even want to be there, it wasn't like he needed to know anything more, he was so near to graduation that he could almost taste freedom. With a silent sigh he turned the page, delving in to the land of fantasy once more.
