If you're doing the projec purely by yourself, you need a minimum of three unreleated pets to start the project. As an example if you had three as follows:
A female
B male
C male,
A and B could breed offspring X which, provided the offspring is female, could breed with C. X and C's offspring could then breed with A or B depending on gender, etc. And you can just sort of keep going like that. Certainly the more pets you start with the easier it is but it is possible to do a project with limited resources.

Frosted jewels are used to add ressessive, if you use them once you will get 2 visible and one carry under one of your visible. You will nead to test the pet to figure out what is beneth your trait.

You nead a minimum of 3 pets (usualy better 2 female and 1 male for that set up) who will be used as start. You can generate them, regenerate them or dye them depending on your project designe, make sure that they don't have unwanted trait to prevent any alteration of your project. Now a visible trait will alwais go to the offspring ( usualy in carry) and a carry have 50 % chance to be passed. More you have visible trait and less time it will take to make the project.
