i was thinking that maybe there should be a sorta viewing place for themed pets, maybe on the exploration tab, so that everybody can see the past official themed designs for themed pets. There could also be a button for viewing every player that owns that themed pet

Plus it would be a bit easier for us wiki editors to make themed pet parts

not exactly. i was thinking of a place where the official designs of every themed pet is displayed, with the official genes and mutations and colors, since the color/traits differs on every themed pet.

Would the page be like a directory of themed pets, then? Would it update every time, say, a Philter of Trait Disruption was used on a Themed, as that would change the genes/mutations it has?

well it could be a list of all themed pets, but what i was going for is just the designs, not the actual pets.

So you mean something more like this thread that Lavelle has been working on? Or this one that Flute has been updating? Or more like this thread that Flute is working on that will link back to all previous themed design contests?

yeah! like those! Its pretty hard to find out all those themed pets if you havent been on sylestia for long

There's a few things I want to point out as reminders though.

1) Sometimes themes are admin made. So you'll be unable to find those themes.

2) There are themes that aren't going to look how they used to look when they first submitted. This is because some happened before regens, and not only do the lines look different, colors and mutations can be moved around as well.

3) Themes can get chosen but changed to some degree when used as an actual theme for a fest.. The designs we submit are afterall just suggestions to help the admins come up with themes for the fest. Sometimes these changes can be very small. Sometimes they can be a bit more. It can make it difficult to be certain sometimes who had their design chosen.

4) There are themes that have had additional changes to them in another year.



I do have many, many chosen theme entries saved (by not just me but everyone) from before revamps. Unfortunately, I'm missing all the vulnyxes. I think there's some others missing as well. If you want, I can eventually try to get a lot of these up on imgur for you to use however you wish.


I'll use my April Showers Morkko as an example of most of the things I mentioned above. Here is what my April Showers Morkko looked when they were first submitted.

Here's what those examples looked like using the colors used for Spring 2014; however, colors swung more during this time period and so the colors I grabbed off a bear might be slightly off. I did use though an epic which should have swung a bit less.












Here's what they looked like next year in 2015.







I don't mind so much the many themes having changes in 2015 as I think it did help some of the revamped species themes that didn't quite look right after, but personally I'll always wish that the themes that have had their colors changed actually reflected it in their names by adding 2015 to the end. People who weren't around for it might not notice the changes when breeding since some aren't as noticeable as others. There's some that are hard for those of us that were here to have noticed with just how slightly they were altered.

We do plan on having a Themed Pet page in the future where players can view all of the designs.
