Truthfully, a lot of my designs are based off of characters from tv shows or books or other things; I just love looking at their colors and figuring out which ones would cover most of the sylestie, and figuring out what type they would be, usually when I create my own designs it's for contests or games.

Okay, Okay, anyway

I figure I should put my most favorited design(It's only six favorites, but I'm still proud of it)

It's Danny Phantom, hehehehe

Ok, I'm pretty sure the next two I made for a fall(or Halloween, I can't quite remember) contest, the year before last

Glowstick

And The Friendly Ghost Fox

I really like that one, even though it's really simple

My most recent one is also a character, Nero, I think he looks really good on his own though

And one that I like quite a bit was based off of Peter Pan, (I'm pretty sure he was based on the book version, not the movie, but it's been awhile so I can't quite remember, it might have been both) he's actually busier than I usually like, but he's so pretty

XD haha, I do the same thing--sometimes I even extract the color from a picture of a character or person and get the digits so that my coloring is exact.

Haha! Oh, man, I would absolutely do that; unfortunately I don't have any way to get the exact color,(or at least, I don't know how to) so I have to eyeball it. Hehe, it's probably for the best though, I'd probably spend much more time on each one if I knew the exact color to use. (I would also probably use more colors than necessary, just because I could, you know?)

Well, I get pictures off of the internet and copy/paste them into Microsoft Paint, click on a certain spot with the eyedropper tool, then examine the color...it DOES take FOREVER, though...

An example;
I took this picture of Star Trek TNG's Enterprise

used the eyedropper and made this sylesti:

*I'm a trekkie, btw*

I also made one for the USS Defiant, also a star trek ship, but I'm not going to post that one here.

Paint, of course, why didn't I think of that? I guess cause I mostly just use it to save pictures nowadays. (When I was younger, however, I would recolor Sonic characters and make coloring pages out of any series I could think of, good times)

Those two are so pretty! I love how you used the blue color, they really do look like they were based off a spaceship. I haven't watched very much Star Trek, unfortunately (I have problems with recognizing faces, so shows or movies with actual people are a bit of challenge) but what I have watched I loved.

I think I'll have to look through your designs, I love seeing characters or things from tv or movies as Sylesties. (Of course, you might not have saved them, but honestly I'll probably end up looking at everyone's designs on this thread[is that the right word, I can't remember] just cause I love seeing them.)

Now I think I'll have to go recreate my old Jak and Daxter designs using paint, you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get the exact shade of green that Jak's hair is, of course it might change between games...Aw well, they needed a revamp either way.

(Wasn't sure if I should ping people or not...) Ok, design people, I need some thoughts and critiques. I've been working on my spring themed designs (early, I know) and I want to know which ones you like, which ones need improvement and why, and which design I should pick when there's more than one per species. If you see two designs for a species, it's because I can't decide. Rather than post them all here, I'll link to my design thread. It's post 34, labeled spring designs.
