Since the discovery of cloning Pokmon, scientists have tried to do it successfully many times. The first attempt, Mewtwo, which used DNA of Mew, was not successful.

Now, in another attempt, the scientists stole children from their families, inserting Pokmon DNA into them. They hid the children in a so-called sanctuary, but some were rescued by some parents. The rescuers realized that the children could not lead normal lives and that the scientists would come after them. The children were taken to a hidden island in the Alola Region, and that is where the story begins; In the Hidden Haven.
