These swords are dangerous in the wrong hands, children. You must guard them with your life! Each of your swords will give you special powers. The diamond sword will give you power over wind. The ruby sword will give you power over fire. The amethyst will give you power over animals. The sapphire will give you power over water. The emerald will give you power over plants. The peacock topaz will give you power over earth. The amber will give you power over emotions and thoughts. The quartz will give you power over ice. There is little time to explain, you must go. Trust no one but each other. Now quick children, you must leave! The village leader said hurriedly and quickly walked the group to the cave system exit. He handed each person a bag containing some food, water, and warm clothes. "I wish I could explain more, but I cannot. There are people who want those swords. They will do everything in their power to get them. As time goes on, you will learn to better wield the swords. You must get to Hope City." He said, then quickly left. (I know, I know, the name of the city is terrible)

"Welp, that's it, off to find a forest" I turn and trot away, sword swinging loosely in my hands.

Immediately I walk forward, sliding my sword into a leather sheath I made a few weeks ago. I am more familiar with my katana, which I have on my back, but I will train myself with the sword I was given. People say I have a heart of ice, so I guess quartz is a good choice for me. The minute I picked the sword up, it changed from a pale pinkish white to a dark smoky grey. I saw that coming. I attach the pack to my back, not waiting for anyone else. If they want to catch up they can.

"Everyone! Stop running off! We don't even know where this city is!" Blue yelled. She stuffed the bag she had been given into her backpack.

Good point, chi? Aika said, but her attention shifted to a spider

I pause and look back at them, twirling my pocketknife a bit in my hand.

Aitan nervously accepted the sword. "Power of wind..." he repeated nervously to himself. He carefully examined the sword in his hands, unsure of what to do with it now.

I pay no heed to the others. I have been alone all my life since I strangled the family dog when I was three. I have been growing stronger since then, and won't stop any time soon. Anyone who tries to get close to me always leaves or dies. I don't let anyone close to me any more.
