Ok, so far it's really good.

It had been a year now since Knuckles first punched a certian blue hedgehog in the face. Since then, he been constantly dragged from his skybound sanctuary and all over the planet. He was beginning to get used to it, annoying as it was. Whatever happened to those endless afternoons beside the Master Emerald? Thoses were the good old days.

Old days... The echidna thought with contempt, right cheek resting on his fist.

And all those adventures brought up a new hardship to his duties as Gaurdian.

The constant nagging boredom.

Now, this had never been a problem in the past. Sure, he'd been bored before, but not like he did now. Personally, he blamed the hedgehog.
And Eggman.
But mostly the hedgehog.

He sighed at the thought and glanced at the Master Emerald, that radiant green gemstone that put moonlight to shame. His mind drifted back to his first meeting with the hedgehog. A cliff with a small waterfall trickling down the side, Sonic, fur aglow with pure energy, and then himself, enraged and decieved. It wasn't until much later hat he found out that Sonic was in fact a hero, and later still until the echidna accepted the fact.

As Knuckles was thinking these thoughts, the roar of a familar engine echoed in the distance. The Tornado, Knuckles thought with a huff. If the Tornado, Sonic's sleek red biplane was apporaching his island, that could only mean one of two things; One, Sonic was coming to ask for assistance with some threat or another, or two, Sonic was bored and wanted to annoy him to death. Neither was a good thing.

Knuckles groaned and stood up, stretching both arms over his head. Any second now, Sonic would arrive and something would happen, for better or worse, but hey, something.
