Okay, so I lost my retainers and they've been missing for like two weeks. I've been searching the house, but I haven't found them and honestly don't know what I should do. I would tell my parents if I wasn't so scared of how they'd react, and I feel like there is still a tiny chance I could find my lost retainers, and I don't want to waste money. Any advice?

How should I tell my parents?

Hmm. Honestly, search every nook and cranny and THEN tell your parents, and search everything again. I have no other ideas. :(

Hope you find em!

tell your parents, then if you still can't find them, call your orthodontist and have another set made. replacements may be costly, but it's either get another set or get braces again down the line, which will be even costlier, needless to say.

Yeah, I've been wearing my positioner for now, but it's not the best option. I know I should tell my parents ASAP...I'm just too scared >< Anyway, thanks for the advice!

you're welcome x3 i had braces for two years and i'm still wearing my retainer (thankfully i only have to wear them overnight every other day now and not every single hour of every day..) also, don't be afraid to tell them. everybody makes mistakes. and like i said before, it's less costly to get a new set of retainers if you can't find your old ones than to get braces again (and a lot less painful, too).

hmmm.. it tends to depend on the situation, but in all instances, just tell the truth flat out. it may seem nerve racking at first, but sometimes that's just the best way to do it. (trust me, i know)
