We are ghosts, unseen to many even though we see all. The forest is our home, the place where we seek shelter and go to die when the time comes. Throughout the ages we have lived to ourselves letting the humans live with us in peace. It was then that we shared our forest home and allowed them to use the bones of our dead for their tools so they could build homes. Thousands of years passed like this, until the humans began thirsty for blood. We took to hiding then, only to find that their thirst for blood and out flesh grew more upon out disappearance. They began to chase us and hunt us like the animals we are. Fear became our driving factor, even the faintest sounds cause us to scatter. Wolves came then only adding to the fear, and to the death. A herd has formed though that they say hunters never find or has ever killed one of its members. Their leader Bracken is said to be the oldest buck around, with antlers that stretch out like a trees branches! It our goal to get to this herd, to seek shelter with them in a hope that we can live life to the fullest.
