@Krinadon,
YES!

Will the nelphini show up as loners, the way the lighira did, or will they show up with other pets?

@Krinadon,
This might be a silly question but what happens to traps in our inventories when the trap changes take place?

The rarer a sylesti is, the less chance it has of having company. This is to prevent the very rare chance of finding a Nephini but it having 2 buddies with it (kinda defeats the purpose of the 'very rare' tag).

We will figure out some type of conversion and convert them.

Worse case, we'll just remove them and reimburse everyone with their value in Gold.

I assume the NC means he has an allele for gene three. I have a lot of pets who show other letters in place of Ns.

@Vaxl,

Your assumption is correct. However, this was also a bug and I am glad you mentioned something!

I have fixed this bug so unfortunately, you can no longer see carried genes on untested or non-generated pets.

@Krinadon,
Just to be clear on the new points and color system:
White= No genotype points
Green= 1 genotype point
Blue= 2 genotype points
Purple= 4 genotype points

@Bella1988,

For now, yes that is correct.

Can I put forth that I feel that it should be changed back to an approximation of what the rarities once meant? Meaning something like

White(Common): 50% chance of 1 genotype point
Green(Uncommon): 2 genotype points
Blue(Rare): 3 genotype points
and so forth

as to make catching pets more appealing? As it stands, one has to grind for an awful long time to find something worth the money spent on traps. This reduces the "fun" factor involved, and thus will likely make less people want to do it. If this change in rarity and traps is an attempt to be a blanket goldsink for all regions, then wouldn't you want to make it an appealing one? Spawn rates for Uncommons and Rares and whatnot are fine- making them more rare is not the issue. However, reducing the amount of genotype points they are "worth" kind of defeats the purpose.

Pets are already dirt cheap. The fact that even an uncommon trap is 1000 gold means that it takes a fairly spectacular 1 vis to catch my attention normally. I'm not sure if there are any 1 carries outside of Fabled species that are worth that to me. If the market would shift to take into consideration that something that carries only one takes 1000 gold or more to catch, then it would be fine. However, bred pets make up the majority of the market, and therefore, the economy won't change to suit this adjustment. Traps look even less appealing now!

Anyway, if you want to make catching pets a real attractive way of obtaining pets that will get rid of that excess gold floating around in Sylestiaeconomyville, you probably want to make a system that makes people WANT to get rid of their gold for it. I think changing the genotype points of the different pet rarities will help with that.

These are my opinions, and you may feel free to ignore them. Thanks for reading.

I agree with Junco. With the way pets are now, I have no urge to catch any of them.
