Anyone else do competitive swimming? Basically need to talk about stuff nobody else appreciates. Like, wearing an unzipped swim parka and feeling like you're in a Hogwarts robe. Or laughing at people from other teams trying to climb out of your pool.

I do/did (hence the username), except summer means lowered competitive expectancy. -_-

Adding to the list, how about wet hair in front of your Friends Who Don't Swim?

Like, some people must think my hair is perpetually wet, because I showed up to softball practice every day with wet hair during the spring because it was right after swim practice. During the summer they were probably like "woah! You're actually kind of blond!"

How about being able to change super fast during gym because you don't even need to take all your clothes off?

Agreed. Depending if there's swimming before or after though. I'd rather not wear a swimsuit all day.

Having to explain how swimming isn't just about moving around in the water. It's also about dryland.

I did and then I got kind of busy so yeah

hmm you know what this reminds me of, I went to my friend's pool party and the friend decided we have a race to see who could swim the fastest... and no one else swam competitively and were all "walking" or doggy paddling across.

Also add that none of your friends can understand how you shower so fast

I meant, like changing for gym in general, like only changing shirt and pants and not having to drag wet stuff off your body makes it easy (looking back, my school doesn't have a pool, so maybe in your school you actually have to change into swimsuits)

Reminds me of when I played sharks and minnows at camp and me and my swim friend suggested we play it like me usually played it, where you can only be tagged when you're at the surface, and people were like "Okay, cause it's not like anyone can actually swim all the way across." Lol it wasn't even a competition pool, it was maybe twelve yards wide or less, and they regretted making that rule.

Have any of you ever gotten green hair from chlorine? I haven't, but my sister's friend has. The funny thing was she kept criticizing my sister for her hair.

Chlorine sometimes bleaches my hair though ;-;
