He lets out a happy yelp and jams his paw against the stone. The cave rumbles and the stones all slide in. The wall of the cave slides open and inside, on a pedestal, is a golden crown. The little creature grabs it in his teeth, and runs out of the cave, where a crowd has gathered. The leader of the valley steps forward, and the little one bows, putting the crown on the ground in front of him. The leader gently picks up the crown and puts it on. She also bows softly, then retreats. He turns to you and jumps in your arms. He seems to want to be yours. Do you take him as your friend?

I watch the whole ordeal in an awed silence. I'm startled into a laugh when the little creature jumps on me. I gently nuzzle the top of his head with my nose in an affectionate gesture.

What do you do now?

I set my new friend down again and look around. I notice the moon is fully out now and I turn to head back into the cave for protection from any rain that might start up during the night. My plan is to set up a place to sleep inside the cave.

(Welcome!) You decide to travel to the woods. As you walk into the trees, you hear a high-pitched whine coming from farther inwards. It is hard to hear and hurts your ears. Do you track it?

Can I please go South?

You decide to head south. As you near the edge of the chasm, a large cloud of the steam escapes and blasts upwards ahead of you. You see two paths down. One path is steep, and passes near the steam vents, but the other is long and winding, though safer. Which path do you take?
