You wake up in a world of darkness. You look up and can't tell if it is night or day, because the dim red disk in the sky doesn't look like a moon or a sun. As you look around, you realize that you are lying on thin red strands of something that slightly resembles grass. You are in a small meadow, surrounded by white, branchless trees to the north and east, a river flows by to the west, a black, sluggish strip, and a huge crack in the ground to the south, red steam coming out at intervals. There is not a creature is sight. Where do you go?

I'd like to stay where I am - get a better grasp on my bearings

You decide that it would be best to go near water. But as you come to the river, it looks less and less like water, and more like a dark mass of oil, bubbling and oozing. You can collect some of the liquid in a hollowed out stone, or you can leave it be.

Can I play? Anyway, I would head east.

You decide to head towards the forest. As the tall white trees loom around you, you notice that the ground ahead of you is becoming boggy and squishes under your feet. A few trees seem to have been torn down and heaped together in a pile to your right. Do you keep going straight or explore the tree pile?

I collect the liquid

You decide to stay where you are and understand your surroundings first. The ground is hard, almost like stone, and the grass grows unevenly, having some clumps be be multiple feet high. A wind is blowing rather softly through the grass, causing it to stir. Would you like to explore some of the large clumps of grass or climb a rock pile and survey the surroundings from higher up?
