So, I've been seeing projects with pet designs a lot here on sylestia, so I was curious, how would I start one myself?
For example, If I wanted to try and create this design:
What's the first step I would take? How do I get collect the needed traits? How long would it take?

What's the first step I would take?
Getting the first ''parents'', you can generate 3 ryori ( usualy 2 female and a male) or buy (or breed) the pet you nead.
if you go with the second option there is still some minor inconvenient : recessive gene . You dont want a parent with that on him as it may affect the project in the long term.
in both situation you may nead some dye (the amount will vary depending on what you starting with.
Take a note that you nead at least 3 pet to start a project, otherwise the offspring will not be able to breed
How do I get collect the needed traits?
by essence :
all the parent must have carry trait, visual can help if you have spare tp but the cary may turn visual on the offspring.
with 4 tp essance that mean that they all have all the trait in carry and more chances to get visual.
With 2 tp essance, do the same thing but make sure that all the trait are divided with the 3 pets.
By buying pets / breedind :
use the advenced shearch to found pets that have the traits needed (those traits only) and keep an eye on the ressessive (purple). You may nead some nullificator and a bit of luck for this one as a lot of pets are not tested and so may have hiden ressessive (those can't be fixed by null)
How long would it take?
Ryori have a recouvery time longer then the non fabled speacie wo the start will probably be preaty slow. The number of female and visual trait on the offspring will play a lot for the next generation. More female mean more egg by generation and so more overall chance to get a pet with more visual.
As it's a 8 tp project it may take a couple of month depending on your luck with the gene and if your using magical pie or not.

Thanks!!
I actually didn't know you'd need two females, which explains why my first attempt was so difficult. That makes a lot of sense though now that I think about it.
Thanks again! :D

You can use two male and one female too but it take mutch longer to get the offspring with the right gender (unless you use a gender swaping ) and as it's a fabled project it's actualy more efficient to start with 2 offspring then only 1.
If you nead any more tips i can help you with those. ^-^

I think that using two males to start with will end up being faster, because any female offspring from the first male will be able to instantly breed with the second male. If you start with two females, then breeding the male offspring from one female to the other will have the cool-down time of the female slow things down significantly. It is possible to do projects either way though.
