i've been looking through the zones and think its kinda empty. so i thought, why not a zone where everybody can see other players and interact with each other? And not only battling each other, they could team up to battle someone else! Im not sure if this is gonna be on the development list but it sounds cool to me.

I think it sounds like a good idea (I've thought about this before, even) but it would probably completely overload the servers.

I agree with what Dragonadder has said - I like the idea, but I think it would place too much strain on the servers. And, even if the servers could handle it, people with slow internet may struggle to enter a zone full of players (no doubt, people would rush to use the feature upon its release, which would cause serious lag).
Maybe a solution to this would be 'random player encounters'? For example, you walk along in a zone, and the avatar of a player who is online and in the same zone as you appears, and you have some options, e.g battle. It would have to be coordinated so that the two players receive the same screens/ requests at the same time. Though the main problem would lie with the players who are only really interested in that kind of thing and would rather talk in the zone chat/ get on with what they are doing may not appreciate being stopped every so often by a feature they don't really want.
Also, a separate zone just for that purpose would probably take a long time to build, unless it is incredibly small (but then it could end up kind of boring if there's very little to do).

TLDR: Cool idea, not sure about how possible it is, might be very resource-intensive and could take a very long time to make and implement.

The biggest issue with this is that it'd lose its novelty very quickly and you'd be trying to wander around a map with literally 100 other people on it. It would be a bit overwhelming since there really aren't that many tiles on a map to stand on.
Just displaying the players wouldn't add too much stress, but depending on how quickly it updates, it could cause a lot of stress.
That said, we do plan on adding multi player battling and grouping for when we relaunch.

well, i did think of that, but what if there were a few different zones allowing maybe 20 or less players in each zone, so that the tile problem wont be so bad

That'd be a lot of extra coding and infrastructure just for something of novelty value.
I don't disagree that'd it'd be a neat thing, but with how Sylestia's exploration is set up, it wouldn't really work very well.
