The original thread has been lost to the sands of time, so here's a new one so we can start over fresh!
Welcome! Our goal in this thread is to gift each other Purebred Themed or Tagged pets to help expand our collections. Please read the rules below.
.: RULES :.
1. Gift a purebred themed offspring or a tagged pet to the user that posts above you.
2. If someone posts "Skip Me," then skip them, but give your gift to the person who participated before them.
3. DO NOT PROMISE TO GIFT A PET AT A LATER DATE. If you do not have the pet available at the time of posting, do not post.
4. Make sure that the pet that you are gifting is either a purebred themed or a tagged pet. No normal or customs allowed.
5. Pets can be gifted at any age, even eggs. Just make sure they fit the criteria of purebred themed.
6. Please tag the person you are gifting a pet to. That way they are alerted that you are sending them a gift.
More rules may be added if any problems arise.
What is considered a purebred?
Purebred pets are pets that have been bred from the tagged themed pets, or other purebreds of the same theme, and thus, retain the same colour palate as the original themed pets. Purebred is a term coined by the players, since many do breeding projects on themed pets to get multiple visibles with the themed colours. For example, this aeridini is a purebred Island Flower Aeridini. She has the same colours as the original tagged themed, but has more visibles through multiple generations of breeding. There is no tag on her profile page since she is not an original themed pet. Since there is a limited breeding pool (limited by the number of original themed pets obtained through the festival), multiple-vis purebreds are usually quite highly valued.
To tell if a pet is purebred, you'll have to look at their lineage. On the pet's profile, you can click "view lineage". There, select the great-grandparents, until you reach the very end. If the pet has a star on the lineage page, it means that the pet is a tagged themed pet. So you'll have to check that all the parentage ends with a pet with a star of the same theme. Also, you should check if there are any major colour differences, which might indicate that a dye has been used. Most players do not consider dyed pets as "purebred". And if the parentage are of tagged themed pets, but of different themes, these are considered as crossbred, and not purebred.
