It's pretty easy to tell a themed when it's tagged, the purple words are a pretty big clue, but there is no special denotation for their offspring. All you have to go on is coloring and the coloring isn't entirely unique. Pets who have absolutely no connection to a theme can produce an offspring that looks so close to a theme that mistakes can be made. There are also mixed breeds referring to offspring that come from parents of two different themes, some of which can look almost exactly like one theme or another, or pets that have had one or even multiple non-themed ancestors but still look extremely close to the theme. This guide is for the purpose of teaching everyone how to check the lineage of pets so you know exactly what you are buying.

How to Check Lineage
To check lineage, you click the *view lineage* button on a pet's profile. It is on the left side, under "manage pet" and "add to party/disband pet". This will show you the genealogy, family tree, of a pet for three generations (parents, grandparents and great-grandparents). To view further into the lineage, simply click on one of the ancestors and it will show you its lineage.

How to Read the Lineage AKA What Does it Mean?
Lineage pages are sort of like maps in that all the information you'll need is there but you need to know how to read them in order to get the most out of them.

How to Tell a Purebred Themed Offspring
A tagged pet has a gold/yellow star on the lineage page. If you can trace a pet's lineage back to ancestors all having gold stars for the same theme, the pet is a purebred offspring. It has to be the same theme in order to count as purebred.

This pet is the direct offspring of two tagged pecan pie luporas. Both parents have a gold star and the coloring is close enough to the same to show that they are of the same theme.

This pet's lineage is a bit more removed but you can still see that she traces back only to pecan pie luporas.

Things get more complicated the further from the tagged pets an offspring goes but the principle is the same. Remember that you can click on a pet further back in the ancestry, you can look at its lineage. You'll need to do this if the offspring is further removed from the tagged ancestors than is visible initially.

This pet's ancestry goes beyond what is visible initially but if you click on the great-grandparents who are not tagged, you will be able to see that they too trace back to tagged pets. https://www.sylestia.com/view/lineage/?pet_id=1734179

Now, that girl was only 5th generation but people go a lot further than that in pursuit of 6-vis themed pets. So what do you do when a pet is, say 14th generation? Well, it's the exact same idea but will simply take a bit more clicking in order to check for purity. As much as this is a bit of a pain, the more generations of pets there are, the more vital it is to check. If a pet is completely purebred aside from a single ancestor, you often can't tell by looking and sometimes it will be so far back that it takes some digging to even see. However, any ancestor that is not of the theme makes a pet impure.

This boy isn't quite one of those cases of being completely buried but looking at him, you wouldn't really think he was anything but a purebred patriotic lupora.
However, looking at his lineage, you can see that one of his great-grandfathers is not a patriotic lupora.

What to Be Wary Of

As that last example showed, just because a pet looks like a certain theme or even if 99% of their ancestors are themed, does not make them a purebred themed offspring. The main thing to look out for is exactly what that example showed; an ancestor that is not of the theme. Often but not always, these pets are for sale at cheaper prices than purebred pets so always be careful of deals that seem too good to be true.

Mixed breed pets, a result of two different themes, and also halfbreed pets are another thing to be wary of. If a pet is a blend of two different themes, that means it is not purebred of either. Nothing wrong with it, of course, but that is a very big problem if you are trying to breed a 6-vis of a certain theme or just breeding it in general. This boy is an example of that.
You would think he was a purebred Strelitizia Nicolai nephini at first glance but his lineage shows he's not.

This pet is half spooky, a quarter blood scream, and a quarter non-themed but it's not readily apparent from her appearance

Another thing to be cautious of and is impossible to find without checking the lineage is a pet who has an ancestor that is a lookalike. A lookalike is a generated pet either made to look like a theme or simply looks a lot like a theme intentionally or not. When they are put up for breeding or are purchased without checking lineage, users can accidentally breed them into their themed projects.
This aeridini is an example of that. There's no way to tell just from looking that they are not a purebred tiger lily. .
However, look at the lineage. https://www.sylestia.com/view/lineage/?pet_id=980850. Everything looks fine aside from this guy who is a generated pet.

Summing Things Up
This guide wasn't made to make everyone paranoid of buying themed offspring or to imply that everyone's trying to swindle you. This guide was created with the intention of giving the resources in order to make informed decisions. There's nothing wrong with mixed breed pets, pets made from lookalikes, or another other sort of pet that is not a purebred themed offspring but there is if you buy them or breed to them while thinking they are purebred pets. Hopefully you will be able to avoid a nasty surprise of finding out that a pet isn't pure well after it's been folded into your themed project or after spending a lot of gold on it.

If anyone has any questions about the guide, please feel free to ping me. I hope this helps!
