Spira laid the two small Gazelles down at Talon's paws.
"Not much, but we caught something." she said.
Talon's expression was unreadable.

Puddle waltzed into the clearing, a smile on her face. Behind her smiled was fear, fear of what might become if we do not have enough food for the Pride. Hunger clawed at her belly too, not eating enough and letting the Pride have it, saying things like, you need it more, or I have already eaten. Which some were lies.
Her green eyes sought out Talon and she quickly found him. She trotted over, her tail swishing lightly behind her. "Talon, Spira, have we caught enough today that can feed the whole Pride? I don't want the Pride to starve..." She murmured the last part, sounding slightly weak from starvation.

"You will eat first." Talon said. "I've noticed you've been letting others eat, but you are starving yourself. Spira's managed to catch two gazelles, fresh in their prime. Eat." he said, the last part in a commanding tone.

Puddle winced at his sharp tone, and murmured something incoherent then nodded slightly. "I will only eat after the Pups and the Old eat..." She said with a slight commanding voice. She padded off with a flick of her tail and a small murmur that went along the line of "Same rank" directed at Talon.

Scorch sat atop the stone arch that town over their camp. His long, black-tipped tail swaying side to side as his gaze flicked across the sun-scorched Savannah. "We need more food, the cubs and Old are getting hungry again..." He said to no one in particular. His shook his mane and leaped down off of the stone arch.
"Send out the next hunting patrols!" He bellowed. "Food is scarce and we are going to fall behind The Pride of the South!" He shouted. He trotted to his den afterwards.
