This might seem odd, but how do you separate stacks of items? I remember being able to do it before, but I can't recall how -.-'

Shift-clicking the stack, and then clicking an empty spot. It will pop up a menu asking how many stacks you would like to split, which effectively means how many of that item you wish to move there.
